no change there so.Bill shankly to Tommy Smith after he'd turned up for training with a bandaged knee:
'Take that poof bandage off, and what do you mean YOUR knee, it's LIVERPOOL'S knee !'
"Sorry, boss, I should have kept my legs together," said Lawrence. "No, Tommy, your mother should have kept her legs together!," replied Shankly.

The current designs we have planning permission for include an underground car park. You can see the tunnel entrance on some of the artist mock-ups.
We won't be allowed to build for more than 61000 on Stanley Park as Lecter says, and any redesign would see a delay of at least 2-3 years and wouldn't allow for greater height. In fact we currently only have permission for a crowd of 45000 in the new stadium until transport infrastructure is improved in the local area. We can build for 61000 but not fill it.

i dont think underground car parks are allowed any more at stadiums. i remember hearing the police banning coaches being parked under the emirates as they feared terrorists might try to plant bombs on the coaches & set them off while under the stadium.Originally posted by janmolby99 View PostThe current designs we have planning permission for include an underground car park. I know that,i realise that was going to be AFII next statement too.Originally posted by DeeGame View Postthats how barca increased the nou camp
But that was because they already had a stadium in place.
My real point is, we are starting from scratch, therfore we dont have to go underground with the pitch level, its not the space we have to build the new stadium that is the issue here, its the infrastructure, transport links etc.
the idea of having to go underground is immaterialBill shankly to Tommy Smith after he'd turned up for training with a bandaged knee:

If the Scum has 76000 moving towards 84000 and then 95000, we are doing the right thing. LFC needs to get the same momentum going as them. Get the OOT's to attend more games. We would if we thought tickets were available.
If you build it they will come!!!
We were somewhere around Barstow on the edge of the desert when the drugs began to take hold.

I don't want Liverpool to move I just want some information as to what they want to do with the ground and how big they want it and how if they do try to make it bigger they will be able to handle the extra traffic in the area.Originally posted by bazza76 View Postso we should not want what is best for LFC because of traffic?.
I sympathise with your situation, but i dont think you have that much to be worried about. unless you mind LFC possibly leaving the area altogether which is possible when you consider what you have been saying about the cost of redeveloping infrastructure.
On a side note aren't people slightly concerned that the club has kept a lot of the details thin on the ground. When Arsenal moved to the Emirates their fans were kept informed all the way.
Also we seem to have been treated wth contempt by the club why was the viewing of the plans in the Vernon Sangster it was apalling, it should have been in one of the club suites.
Why did the architect designing the stadium change his tune at the start of the Monday he said that both ends of he ground would be the same and when pressed he stated that the club had made no contact with him over the building of a single tiered Kop. Then by the end of the day he states that there will now in fact be one huge 22,000 single tiered Kop at the same time saying that the designs being displayed are more or less the final designs well those designs as it stood then the two ends behind the goal have a capacity of 13,221. So unless the seats behind the goal are like armchairs and they can make them smaller and fit an extra 8,779 then the architect was talking ****.
Have a look on the stadium debate on RAWK also www.newanfield.co.uk it's a cowboy site but he's just repeating what the architect told me and others.
The reason I mention this though is because the club must have known the architect was either lying or misinformed (how an architect can be misinformed about his own design though...) but they didn't do anything to correct the architect the upshot being that alot of people believe we will have a huge 22,000 single tiered Kop when we just won't.
PS to anyone who believes the new ground as it stands now will be unique it shares a lot of design features with the Emirates and even more at least from the inside with the city of manchester stadium the only difference being the colour of the seats and also the two ends behind the goals are smaller they don't go as far back. But the real similarity is to Sporting Lisbon's ground have a look at that. The architect got a bit wound up when someone compared new anfield to the Emirates, but agreed that the New Liverpool ground was just a slightly bigger version of Sportings ground.Just to be clear I hate Rick Parry with a ****ing passion and no I don't want to talk about it.

We could all see for ourselves just how generic, unoriginal and unremarkable the stadium design was, not exactly the best symbol of our club. Which makes me extremely surprised we'd gone so far down this route already. But if any of what you say is true then Hicks has done the right thing to take decisive action and go back to the drawing board because it seems the architects have not fulfilled the brief the club has given them and just have done what was easiest for them. May be this explains why the club and architects were not singing from the same hymn sheet.Originally posted by Trousers View PostI don't want Liverpool to move I just want some information as to what they want to do with the ground and how big they want it and how if they do try to make it bigger they will be able to handle the extra traffic in the area.
