there is nothing to stop the initial construction steps following the approved planning regs but ALLOWING an even larger construction if the planning permission is subsequently modified.

This happens all the time in both the uk and usa - especially if women are involved in the building design and keep changing their minds

i accept it would be a big deal to change this planning permission but i'd venture that the yanks have a good couple of years to work on it before the basic construction cannot any longer be modified sizewise. Its almost certainly possible that the approved designs might allow a 10000+ capacity extension to be built on the complete stadium.

    no problem here people.
Any difficulty in changing the planning for the actual stadium design? Ignoring changing the capacity

It would be easier than changing the capacity. As long as the colours blend in well with the surroundings and we dont dominate the skyline, we should be alright, we were told to tone down the red origionally to fit in more with the surroundings.
Bill shankly to Tommy Smith after he'd turned up for training with a bandaged knee:
'Take that poof bandage off, and what do you mean YOUR knee, it's LIVERPOOL'S knee !'

"Sorry, boss, I should have kept my legs together," said Lawrence. "No, Tommy, your mother should have kept her legs together!," replied Shankly.

I am encouraged by that. As long as we get a distinctive design that will maintain the atmosphere, plus a combination of the highest capacity that planning will allow (hopefully at least 65-66,000) and the option of expanding further at a later date, I'll be happy.

In this regard it can only be a good thing that Hicks has sacked the architects and brought in his own

Obviously i have no experience with this type of development.
Just curious though as to why you may think we could get away with say adding an extra 10,000 seats without having to re-apply?

As far as I am aware, Laing O'Rourke have still got the contract having beaten the favourites the Carillion Group. I'm hoping my architect mate (who's a Man U fan unfortunately) will be in the pub tonight when I go to watch Stevie, Carra, Robbie and Bolo beat the *******s...

I'll report back later if I hear anything but don't blame me if I type like Abro...

                        .
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

We've sacked our architects because the Americans want a bigger crowd capacity in the new stadium.

There is a debate going on as to whether we should be prepared to wait longer for a bigger stadium and whether it should be moved outside the Anfield area because of local restrictions and difficult council officials.
