    sorry, could not resist.

That team has no width. Replace the full backs with Alves and Bale, and we are onto something

He did have one great season, but is he that 20 goal a season plus player we need? Probably not, I'm not sure. We need to sign someone who will make an imediate impact.

We need a striker and we need a winger, He is another forward and we already have Kuyt and Garcia etc. He is a good player but not what Rafa is after.

He is IMHO a better player then Garcia and far better then Kuyt.

                    Controversial, about Kuyt.

Kuyt has so far adapted reasonably well in his first season, Baptista, whilst he hasn't had much playing time, has hardly made an impression.
Either way I thik they are different type of players, but you have to ask yourself "Is he a player we need" or is he better than some of our squad members.
I'm not sure he would improve us that much to be honest.

He is perhaps those two players put together. He is big and strong but with the touch and tec. of Garcia.
And I dont think he is a 20+ striker but he would IMHO improve us quite allot.

I'd take Baptista over Crouch actually..

I was banging on about Baptista forever, as I followed his career at Sevilla and subsequently Real Madrid.

He has been rather awful at Arsenal this season however, and looks a shadow of the player that did so well at Sevilla. Having said that, I think he'd shine more in our system than Arsenals.

Even though he's had trouble adapting, I would be made up if we signed him for 7M.

He doesnt get a game for Arsenal...i dont know why, but he just doesnt. Im not sure if he just isnt up to the pace of the Prem, or if he just doesnt fit into Arsenals system.

But if you look at our system, and the style of football that we play....theoretically he should fit in. He can play with his back to goal, and feed the on rushing attackers..as he did to great effect at Sevilla. He also has the technical ability to turn defenders and create his own shots....once through he either takes aim with his cannon shot, or he can deftly place a ball in the corner ala Mr. Fowler. He really does have the attributes needed to be a great striker in the Prem. Im perplexed that he hasn't gotten a chance.

For the mentioned £7million he would be worth a shot, but he would be our third target IMO.....We desperately need a finisher (Eto'o, Villa, Klose, or Gomez) and a quick winger, who moves the ball well, who will take players on regulary, and also scores goals. Ribery would be my first choice....especially with the Cisse transfer in place, he could be a makeweight in the deal.

Probably agree with this. Superb for a season and then in my eyes he's been mediocre. He misses a godawful load of chances as well; too many for my liking. He wouldn't solve our goalscoring problem. I'd give this one a miss.

He has been injured a lot this season and that's why he hasn't played that much.

Real is Real and that's why he didn't play that much for them. His name didn't sell enough shirts so he was benched.
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.
