    Should've used A, B and C.

Does that mean my shopping list of Torres, Villa, Kaka, Alves and Lahm is out of the question?

Id set aside a minimum budget of £60m plus the sales of Crouch for £12m, Bellamy for £10m, Hyypia for £5m, Kewell for £8m, Pongolle for £3m, Le Tallec for £1m and Fowler To New England Revoloution for £30m, Giving a grand total off £129m.
      Forwards.......

Depends if we can get Gilette and Hicks playing Football manager.

If only. Then we could takeover Chelsea and loan Guthrie for a fee of £60m and then take over Man Utd and loan Peltier for a fee of £50m. Bingo, Job done!

actually they are good players, richards & lennon are the future imo, Villa is proven goalscorer, better than Bellamy & Crouch

Not having a go at you in particular or anything. I just fear that a lot of you are taking it for granted that Hicks and Gillett are going to be giving £50m to Rafa every summer window. I think you could be in for a bit of a disappointment this summer if that's what you are expecting. Last summer we spent £30m, hardly pocket change is it.

I can realistically see Rafa spending a similar amount this coming summer, but perhaps on 2-3 players instead of the half dozen last summer. Then again he did spend £25m on Kuyt, Pennant and Bellamy. Either way Rafa needs to bring in the right players to take us forward, what names/reputations they have, where they come from and how much they cost is irrelevant.

I don't think Rafa will get £50m every summer. I do think that he will get what he needs this summer. Rafa didn't spend £30m last summer. He spent something like £10m net. You can't just mention how much Rafa signs players for, he sells players to you now.

Cisse £5m, Bellamy £10m, Crouch £10m. That makes £25m. So if Rafa spends £50m on my three players and sells the above three then he would spend something like £25m net.

                    Not a fantasy figure.
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

                      Last summer:
                      In:
                      Kuyt (£10m)
                      Pennant (£7m)
                      Bellamy (£6.5m)
                      Gonzalez (£2m)
                      Paletta (£1.5m)
                      Aurelio (free)

                      Out:
Pongolle, Carson, Le Tallec, Cisse all on loan.
                      Morientes (£3m - apparently)

                      That's £24m net. Hardly peanuts.

Not that I'm disagreeing with you re Rafas spending. He has gotten good value when selling players on, more so than Ged, but my point remains; I simply cannot see Hicks and Gillett sanctioning a net spend much bigger than last summers.

Richards from day one - you just knew he had it, the kid's got character, attitude not to mention a fantastic god given talent, he's got the lot, power, pace, aerial prowess, a real beast of a player.

As for Aaron Lennon i think he's sheer class the lad, does need to improve his crossing though, such pace and quick feet, would be a massive hit with the Liverpool faithful if he were to join, he offers something different,
                        something exciting.
Richards and Lennon are both very talented, but can't be categorized as World Class..................maybe one day but not now.

                          Traore £2m, Kirkland £3.5m, Mellor £0.5m, Kromkamp £1.75m, Barragan £675k.

I think we are down to around £16m net

And who paid (or at least funded) Kuyt?

Surprising how little the club managed to find him then isn't it?

Be nice to see what he can do with a decent pot.

                              Belletti signs new Barcelona contract
                              tribalfooball.com - March 16, 2007

Barcelona have secured fullback Juliano Belletti to a new contract extension through to 2009.

Barca confirmed the agreement yesterday, which is a one-year extension to his previous deal, which was due to expire in 2008.

Alves had another 2 assists yesterday. Let's hope we get him.
