Much better than Potter, whom someone has compared him with in this thread.
It will be tough getting a game for LFC though, but I would like us to keep him for a couple of years as a squadie. We could do worse for a backup player.
I dont think he's good enough for us in the long term...

But I think he'll be able to forge a half decent career in the Premiership, for sure.

Agreed. Not good enough for a first 11, but we also need squadies. As long as he is happy to develop for a couple more years he should stay on.

Spot on. He's a much better player than Potter and deserves a chance on the future if he continues to make progress.

Let's hope he doesn't turn into another John Welsh who was also strongly tipped to make it at one point.

I watched Guthrie last night and aside from a few misplaced passes he was very impressive, as the commentating Chris Kamara frequentley said, he really showed his class. He really did look on another level to the other players on the pitch, in the same sense that Bale looked to be too good for the others playing.

Guthrie and Bale linked up really well and were always looking for eachother - they both recognised the others class. Rafa has played Guthrie and Peltier when hes had the chance and you can see why Guthrie got his chances.

Guthrie was captain of the reserves for a reason and the reds fans who slate him have probably never seen the rezzies play. The only time hes played for LFC hes been stuck out on the RW or even the LW, hardly going to look like he has promise is he?

LFC most impressive cover is CM, so yes he will struggle to make a breakthrough here. My tip would be to loan him out all next season to the best club that will take him on and lets see how he performs. Hes only going to get better so we would be fools to sell now when he could get much better and his value could really increase!
            Forwards.......

Defo looks like he'll be able to cope at the top level, wont be with us as we just dont need him but he'll do well for himself I think.
