we put in more crosses than any other team, we have the most shots on goal in the league, yet we don't score, we simply need better attacking players...Originally posted by Chris View PostPeople complain about our strikers non stop but do the same people ever look at why they're not scoring a lot of goals?
Do people seriously think that Crouch, Cisse, Morientes, Kuyt, Bellamy etc are that bad that they cant get 10 goals a season in the League. I genuinely dont believe the problem is the strikers, its either the service from wide areas or the way they're forced to play"I have decided to escape, to defy the shogun. its all about tactics shaggy and the only time kuyt looks like scoring is when we play with a straight 2 up front. benitez asks him to drop off too deep which is fine but if 1 centre midfielder is not prepared to make the run at their back 4 then its always gonna be a ****ing long day. benitez played for a draw today and he is happier being 7 points ahead of bolton not 6. ****in shame"People from Liverpool have got something about them and, if they’re not happy about something, they let people know.”

At least when Nando played you would always think there's a chance of him scoring, because although he wasn't a huge success, when he did play well he was brilliant. And his goalscoring record wasn't a disgrace either (8 from 41 matches in the league and 12 goals in 61 in all comps). Is that worse than any of our current strikers???Originally posted by CharlieMansonsSquint View PostIs Kuyt even an improvement on Morientes?
When Kuyt plays I just don't expect him to score.

Sorry mate, not having that one. This season our forwards have missed loads of chances.Originally posted by Chris View PostPeople complain about our strikers non stop but do the same people ever look at why they're not scoring a lot of goals?

Today was inept in all departments, starting with our passing.
Take the scum game the other week as an example. Kuyt missed a great chance, and Bellamy made a mess of a simple pass that should've been a tap in for Kuyt.
Problem is that it's been happening too often this season. Chelsea away, Bolton away, Bitters away, Newcastle away. With better forwards we win these games.
But we do have other problems, compared with the scum we are miles behind in attacking creativity, movement and pace.I hate Polanski

Defensively we were ok.
Midfield though......well.........
Aurelio never went past the man and disappeared the longer the game went on.
Momo - terrible distribution/
Masher - sometimes tidy - but wayward passing at times/
Alonso (sub) did nothing.
Gerrard. Body languate all wrong. Don't think he completed a pass. Disgraceful.
Pennant - one great cross for Robbie. Looked lively at least - which is mor than can be said for some.
Bellamy. He's beginning to piss me off with his moaning. A lack of service - granted - but didn't work hard enough.
Kuyt. ****ing hell - couldn't trap a bag of cement.
Fowler. More threat getting across defenders in 7 mins than dirk/bellamy achieved all game.
Horrible,horrible performance.
That's three games on the bounce without scoring as well.
We're in serious need of a goalscorer and 2 wide men.Liverpool born and bred.

It's time some of the people on this site did a bit of growing up. I haven't posted much this week because every thread is full of silly petty arguments between people who obviously get off just chucking abuse around. Either it gets sorted out or people will grow disenchanted.

If I only would go by what Kuyt have done for us this season then he should be sold in the summer but I also look at what he has done before he joined us and then he don't deserve to be sold after one season.
He plays much deeper now than he did for Feyenoord. He is more like an attacking midfielder now than a striker.
We will get the answer next season if he is good enough when Rafa have added the creativity we need so he doesn't need to play as deep as he does now.Just believe and you never know what will happen.
According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.
