Our set piece play is lifeless

Before I go for a drive to Denmark to drown my sorrows looking at some kite surfing women, I just want to say that I can't remember the last time I felt excited watching a corner or free kick from the reds. What happened to threatening play from dead ball situations? I know our striking force is lacking at the moment, and it's a sad indictment that Fowler had the best chance today, but I feel we need more creativity when it comes to attacking from stops in play. Does anyone remember the zine 'Another Wasted Corner'?

Gerrard's corners are shocking. They rarely clear the first man. It's just basics. I could deliver a better corner when I was 14.

For being the main thing you could practice on the training ground we should be doing a hellova lot better! Corners either to long, straight to the keeper, mi**** or yet another short corner fudged up. When we're not carving chances out from open play we should be really looking to take advantage of organised opportunities as much as we can!

I think someone needs to tell Gerrard that he's ****e at corners! He can't put a good cross in, just can't.

I believe Aurelio should take our corners, because he seems to be our best set-piecer.

Usually when I watch Chelsea's corner-kicks I get nervous as fcuk! Lampard is probably one of the best corner-kick takers in the Premiership. His crosses are quick and deadly... Gerrard's crosses on the other hand are high, slow and they usually end in goalkeepers hands.

Set pieces are what we need to improve the most!

I agree completely. Plus he's decent in the air being a tall lad. And personally, I'd rather see him loitering on the edge of the box so he can smash the ball back in should it be half cleared, much as he did against West Ham in the cup.

If he was an awesome set piece taker I'd see the logic, but he's so not!
