I have never been Momos biggest fan, but he is getting alot of stick all of a sudden isnt he?

I always found all this Momo is boss and Momo should be the first name on the team sheet frankly laughable. However people the bad news is hes gonna get worse before he gets better. The reason? Because teams are targeting him now, they have finally realised that if you put him under pressure he will needlessly give the ball away every now and again. Frankly Im astonished it took teams so long to work this one out.

The biggest shock for me is people on this site requesting Momo to play when we have the least possession. Great idea, not. The little of the ball that we actually get, we need to keep. And Im afraid all Momo is gonna do is give it straight back so the opposistion can come straight back at us. Best to play him against teams where we have the lions share of possession and where if we lose the ball its likely not going to cost us.

The reason we didnt beat Villa or create anything was down to the whole team, not just Momo. Maybe if Rafa had played Pennant and Gonzo on the wings we would have created something. Maybe it was just one of those games....... I mean that is one of the first games where we havent created hardly anything at all, its usually just the poor finishing of our strikers that lets us down.

Would I sell Momo? For a HUGE sum of money yes, but his technique could improve and make him even better than Viera was, and wouldnt we all regret letting him go then?
    Forwards.......

My idea on this is that Momo is needed there against these teams to win the ball, then pass it to the nearest red to that we can keep it.

Well thats exactly what Makalele does for Chelsea and he is effective against every team. The point with Sissoko is that he cant even do the simple passes at time, and thats the problem.
        Forwards.......

Unfortunately, this seems to be the case.
And even more so in the last games, after his injury.

He'll improve, but then I said that about Crouch and his heading ability!

Im not saying sell him, I think he still has a big future at LFC.
Its just games against the likes of Villa, where they arent top sides and where we dont need such a destructive force like momo, we could be playing more creative players who will do more with the ball and possibly turning a 0-0 into a 0-1 away win with better service and retention of the ball.
Ive noticed teams, especially Barca and United after a few bad games where he gave the ball away very easily when pressed. It was there for us all to see, but has just been shown up more of late and I do expect teams to target him more often for this purpose.
you right though, it is the whole teams fault we didnt beat Villa, not just momo. But the underlying fact reamins, he has to improve, or he will keep being targeted by teams and costing us as much possession as he gets off the opposition.
Bill shankly to Tommy Smith after he'd turned up for training with a bandaged knee:
'Take that poof bandage off, and what do you mean YOUR knee, it's LIVERPOOL'S knee !'

"Sorry, boss, I should have kept my legs together," said Lawrence. "No, Tommy, your mother should have kept her legs together!," replied Shankly.

Momo is a monster, he's here to stay and will be a legend for this club.

Alonso's strength is his passing (most of the time...) and reading of the game, he's not especially mobile or athletic. He's best with the ball at his feet.

Momo on the other hand charges around harrassing the opposition and breaking up play, before dumping it off to a better passer - how often do you see him launching 30 yarders? He's best without the ball...

See my point? The role they play in the team is totally different, so to say one can 'replace' the other is ludicrous

For Momo to play well the team must be playing well. We have to make sure that every time he wins the ball he right away has a team mate to pass to.
What he does for us is he wins the ball higher up the pitch then any other player we have. That is hugely important. But then we as a team have to be ready to attack the moment he wins the ball. That is what went wrong on Sunday.

I´m not saying he does not need to improve, he does.
But when he does he will be the first name on the sheet for every game.
