Huntelaar is by far the better finisher, bu Kuyt is a better worker who ilsacrifice his scoring rate for the team.
Bill shankly to Tommy Smith after he'd turned up for training with a bandaged knee:
'Take that poof bandage off, and what do you mean YOUR knee, it's LIVERPOOL'S knee !'

"Sorry, boss, I should have kept my legs together," said Lawrence. "No, Tommy, your mother should have kept her legs together!," replied Shankly.

    * After Tommy Lawrence had let in a fluke goal between his legs

Can't say I've seen anything of Huntelaar, but if goals are to go by, he'ds be worth having. But Kuyt hasn't had a full season yet, so I'd at least give him that.

Kuyt is in his first season in a new club, in a new league, in a new country. Like alot of foreigners - he needs time to settle in. He works tremendously hard for the club - but we all know his form has dipped of late. What we don't want are the knives being sharpened, ready for Dirk to be made the sacrificial lamb for our recent goal famine.

I know your question is (hopefully) hypothetical Cobain - but i don't want us to go down the road of dissing Dirk, because contrary to what some people might say - he IS definitely good enough to play for us but he's simply out of sorts at the moment. TBH - I don't think we're playing him where we should be, but that's another discussion for another day......

In the meantime - can we lay of Dirk please?

          Liverpool born and bred.

Nah mate, I'm not dissing Kuyt, just asking who is better because me and me old man argued about this for the majority of the Villa match today.

I agree with you that both of them are good enough to play for Liverpool. Just want to hear your opinions about who is better. Nevermind the clubs they're playing for, just look at their skills and pick one or another...

              Nope.

Fair do's. But don't make Dirk a scapegoat is all I'm saying. At least he's trying which is more than some others seem to be at the moment.....

No scapegoating, but he needs some time on the bench. He was not alone in being poor today, that's for sure. I was also disappointed in Rafa today and his tactical approach and lineup.

I think it has been mentioned before, but you gotta ask, "Is this a deliberate ploy by Rafa"? for some insane reason we can't fathom; more money perhaps, reason to leave for pastures new, falling out with someone, proving a point to players on the field for some reason or other, forcibly telling players where to play and how to play without being flexible about things, not getting the players in the right frame of mind prior to matches, it isn't the first time this season this type of performance has been given on the pitch.

Strange, something isn't right behind the scenes.

I think he, and the players, are concentrating on the CL now and are just going through the motions in the premiership. Poor really, considering our fans are paying to watch that.

Yeah, I would go along with that...

We play Arsenal next, only 3 or 4 days before PSV away, I think we'll see a seriously understrength side for that one, especially after two international matches.

                          Something like...

                          --------Fowler--Bellamy
                          Gonzalez--------------Pennant
                          --------Masher--Sissoko
                          Aurelio--Agger--Hyypia--Arbeloa
                          ------------Reina

                              Probably, yes.

Not saying It's the side I would play, I'm saying it's the side I think Rafa will play...
