Don't see him leaving at this juncture. Then again it all depends on what Hicks and Gillett tell him.

Plus Real Madrid are a complete joke right now. Their president is a clown, so far he's promised Robben, Kaka and Fabregas and has ended up with none of them, he's at the stage where he'll do anything to save his own neck. I think Rafas too pragmatic to go to them in their current state. Here he'll be given time by both owners and fans to get it right. Real Madrid don't do 4-5 years plans.

It all hinges on the meeting with Hicks/Gillett.........my gut feeling tells me they will give Rafa the assurances and transfer kitty he needs!!

He'll go at some point i'm sure of it.

Would be very surprised if it was in the summer though. I think he'd be happy if he was properly supported in the t/fer market and like Wenger, the draw of the new stadium may be a big one for him.

However if the roles were reversed and this was a Real Madrid forum... the answers would be sure to be different.

Yep it needs new owners in who promise stability and not these idiots in at the mo.

I think it could be another 5 yrs of decline at madrid and Rafa will come and save the day for them after taking us to 3 titles on the trot

I'm getting a bit sick of these Rafa to Real stories.

I know Rafa can't do anything about the press speculating that Madrid want him as their manager but why doesn't he come out and point blank tell the fans that he's not going anywhere? Every time Madrid look like they want to change their manager he gets linked and everytime it seems he allow's his agent to him to speak to them to see what they have to offer. Last season he signed a new 4 year contract yet still he seems to want to listen to what Madrid have to say.

I'm sorry but if everytime he is linked with another job he is going to use that as leverage with the board for something then he can get lost. Say he stays next season and then this time next year we get all this speculation again is he going to use that as another chance to leverage something out of our board. No-one is bigger than LFC no-one and if Rafa carries on holding the club to ransome over an offer from another club then I think we should get rid. If he isn't happy after 3 seasons with the way LFC is run then walk don't mess us fans around.

sorry i meant from last season to this.

Masher is not proven and Kuyt in the last few games has looked anything but world class.

Why ? Seems like a fair comment to me.

We haven't progressed in the league since Houllier surely the league table for the past three years should tell you that.

yes I agree, what we should do is give a manager 3 years to win the title, if they don't then ship them off.

it may take us another 50 years to win anything, but hey, when we do get that manager who can win it for us, it will be really fantastic

Because you do not judge the team that way. Progress is not only result oriented. As a squad we have imrpoved, even if we finish 3rd with less points margin than last year.
Can you honestly say that this squad ain't better than the one Houllier built with crap such as Cheyrou, Diouf, Diao, Heskey among many others ?

Yes, we haven't won a title for 17 years.

Silly me for being a bit peeved.

Rafa inherited a side that was the fourth best in the Premiership.

Three years and 80 million later we are.....the fourth best side in the Premiership.

If that doesn't worry you, you really should go round Tomkins house for a cup of tea and natter, the RCDNW brigade need to open their eyes...

Most of which you know nothing about being not much older yourself, and Rafa has only been here for 2+ of that, 3 this summer, in which the CL & FA Cup are in the cupboard.

Fergie took 7 years to get Utd to the top, and is still there doing it 20 years later.

It's about time some posters got real, grew up, matured a bit, got a life & acquired some patience.
