Rafa deserves the chance to get on an equal playing field with scum/chelsea anyone who gets troare a champs league medal has to be some sort of miracle worker!!

So do the blinkered among us. Throwing stats and figures around isn't telling the whole story. You have to agree that under Rafa we have progressed in terms of entertainment, quality and success in the cups. But we also accrewed more points last season than we ever have in the Premiership. I see what you are saying and we are all frustrated at our lack of potency in the league, but give Rafa the summer to conduct his business and then we will see how we perform. If we aren't heading in the right direction, and I think we certainly are at the moment, then fair enough, things need to be looked at. But FFS, give the fella some time.

Most of the people lambasting Rafa for not getting us the title fawn over Ferguson's success in the competition in the same breath. It took him 7 years to win it, without winning the European Cup and FA Cups consecutively in his debut seasons. Im not one of the RCDNW bridage, but I don't doubt his acumen, and I believe we will win the league under Rafa, and soon.

              Manuel Garcia Quilon.

Real Madrid want Rafa Benitez as their new manager.

That was the message from Spain as Revista de la Liga discussed the fall-out from a fantastic El Gran Clasico at the weekend.

The 3-3 draw earned Fabio Capello a stay of execution at the Bernabeu, but Guillem Balague believes Real will turn their attentions towards the Liverpool boss in the summer.

"He knows Real Madrid want him," he said. "Real Madrid have been in touch, although Predraig Mijatovic and him have not met, as the English press have reported.

"He's got to take a decision now, but I think the decision will be to stay at Liverpool because the job is not finished.

"He's got to win the league, there is now money coming into Liverpool, so he will be happy with that."

Not only is Benitez's stock sky-high in Spain following his exploits with Valencia and the Reds recent Champions League win over Barcelona, but just as importantly Capello has lost his strongest ally in Madrid.

Two weeks ago Revista reported how sporting director Mijatovic had distanced himself from the manager as his own position came under threat.

It was too little too late to save him it would seem, and the new man looks set to test Rafa's resolve this summer.

"It's clear, very, very clear now that Real Madrid's dynamic has changed," said Balague.

"The number one is no longer Mijatovic since last week - although that has been the case for months really. José Angel Sánchez is now the general director and he is going to go big time for Rafa Benitez.

"But when he gets a no, it will be Berndt Schuster or Jose Mourinho, who was at Valencia on Sunday and said 'yeah, I would love the job, but I'm at Chelsea'."

              2nd article sounds better:-

Mark Bolton and Guillem Balague present the weekly round-up of La Liga action.

This week’s show includes an exclusive interview with Liverpool manager Rafael Benitez.

He talks to Guillem about the rumours linking him with the Real Madrid job but ensures Reds fans that he is focused on Liverpool as they aim for third place in the Premiership.

He also talks about the Reds' hopes in the Champions League and the prospect of facing his old club, Valencia, if both clubs reach the semi-finals.

We also have the latest action and talking points featuring Barcelona, Real Madrid and Sevilla who are all pushing for the title.

El Futbolista Perfecto - the Perfect Footballer feature - continues. This week Guillem discusses who has the best right foot in La Liga.

The contenders are Sevilla's young lord of the wings, Jesus Navas, Ronaldinho and former England skipper, David Beckham.

Also back is Goal of the Week, with a pair of Deco boots signed by the midfield maestro himself, courtesy of Umbro, up for grabs.

For all this and more, tune into Revista - The only place to find the latest news and action from La Liga.

Football has changed the past 10-15 years, it is no longer a patient game.

Complacency and sentimentalism has cost this club dear and is a major factor in nearly two decades without winning the league.

Hicks and Gillett will be ten times more ruthless than Parry and Moores and rightly so.

I'm sorry mate but as other people have said Rafa has taken our club forward since Houllier left in a big way. Sometimes I think you don't realise what state we were in when Houllier left and how bad we actually were. It was only the fact that everyone else outside the top 4 were so poor that we finised fourth in Ged's last season.

Rafa has won the FA Cup and the Number 5 and last season we had our biggest points total ever in the EPL. He needs more time and respect to win the league for us. Football isn't like it used to be not everyone wants to play for Liverpool anymore they see Chelsea, Man U and Arsenal as more attractive options. Rome wasn't built in a day my friend.

However Rafa does get on my jubblies they way he seems to string us fans along about the Madrid job every single season. He needs to realise who he is in charge of and realise that no-one is bigger than LFC no-one.
**** OFF HICKS AND GILLETT WE DON'T WANT YOU.

Chris Bascombe said in saturdays pink that it is 50/50 that Rafa will leave in the summer.
Bascombe says he is using all this Madrid lark to get what he wants (same as last summer). Also said that Rafa has brought a lot of politics into the way Lfc works.

If i get a chance i will type it up and post it because it was a good insight.

I'll reserve my judgement on Rafa when he is given the money to buy his No.1 targets. No point wanting Rafa out after 3 yrs. All the best managers have needed time to adjust.

Lets hope he sticks around so we can all see what he can achieve.

These talks he has requested with Hicks and Gillette suddenly look very, very important.
