I think Jose is sick that he isnt our manager. He gave his word to Chelsea then the job here came about. You could tell he was gutted. Every interview at that time with him, he kept on about wanting to be like Shanks and Sir Bob.

      I'd go along with that.

I think Mourinho would give his right arm to manage Liverpool football club.

Mourinho is arrogant, but, looking as a rival fan you could say Shankly was arrogant. All those comments he made belittling Everton, whilst funny, did have a bit of an arrogant tone.
He's not necessarily the most loveable bloke in the Premiership, but what would you rather. A man like Pardew or Newell or Pearce who are all nice guys but who would get us NOWHERE, or a **** like Mourinho who delivers the title?
If I had to make that choice between a nice loser or a **** of a winner, give me the winner every time.
It's all about results, I don't suppose anyone would complain if he delivered the Premiership.
Then I agree with you both. People forget about managers like Shanks and Clough, who was also a bit of a ****.

Fergie is a ****** and Keegan is a nice guy. Says it all really.
        Forwards.......

Immediately after Porto won the Champions League, interviewers were all asking him are you joining Chelsea now?.
Jose wouldn't give anything away other than.
There is one team I would liek to join and there is another I gave my word to, ie Chelsea and Liverpool.
I think he wants to build a legacy at a cub, he wants to be remembered as a specialy manager, much the same as Bob and Bill. He knows Liverpool are legendary.
Bill shankly to Tommy Smith after he'd turned up for training with a bandaged knee:
'Take that poof bandage off, and what do you mean YOUR knee, it's LIVERPOOL'S knee !'

"Sorry, boss, I should have kept my legs together," said Lawrence. "No, Tommy, your mother should have kept her legs together!," replied Shankly.

          * After Tommy Lawrence had let in a fluke goal between his legs

Mourinho really is a piece of sh!t and there are times where I hate him as much as Demento but he's the best man manager around. There isn't a manager on this planet that can get the best out of players like mourinho can.

This may be controversial, but if Mourinho was our manager instead of Rafa, I doubt we would've won the CL but imo we would've been much much closer to no. 19 than we are now.

But his tactical awarness isnt as good as Rafa's. How many times did Chelsea revert to Huth up front and it just lumped up? He doesnt see to know how to change things once his original plan goes wrong.

True, that's why Rafa's the man in the CL but then again Maureen did it with Porto. I don't think you need to be a good tactician in the premiership to be successful though...

Anyway, I doubt Rafa will be going anywhere just yet so talking about possible replacements is very premature imo.

I'd be happy with him as manager IF Rafa went but i doubt it'll happen and I hope it doesn't.

but his motivational skills is twice if not three times as goos as rafas, we would have crushed the villa side on determination alone under him...

still wouldn't want him, don't care if he's a winner. i don't want to win at any cost, he doesn't have liverpool mentality...

If all this stuff about him wanting to be like the old Liverpool greats is true, then maybe he would at least respect our traditions and the Liverpool way.
