No big problem at all. Here in Shepherds Bush they are in the middle of putting in a new station, next to an excisting track, to accomodate a new shopping centre.

I think Dunk could confirm all this. He's in Montreal right now.

He will probably come back with big news that he has won the construction contract

These don't **** about do they?

Good to see, a positive change from the last 15 years of waiting for something to happen instead of making it happen.

Bradley is a Bluenose, but his spat with Luvvy Bill about Council support for their plans has been so public and so nasty, I can see him bending over backwards to support our plans just to spite him, as well as to get to wear that 'Enlightened Council Leader' feather in his cap

Dunk has probably eaten Montreal by now.

This rain line, does anyone know where it joins the Northern line at all because from memory, it doesnt and they dont even run on a similar level. The one nearest Anfield is a freight line that trundles to garston and the Docks. The nearest it gets to a passanger train line is Kirkdale, were it runs underneath the station.

The major issue i think is more the roads. The new stadium would still be massively land locked. Plus Queens drive struggles big time with 40,000. If you have 80,000 then traffic would stop. For that reason i cant see it happening

It might not be a massive problem but it will be an expensive problem. And the council will be reluctant to start that project after the debacle of the Southquay station that cost a fortune to build and no one uses it.

I can see the Arsenal stadium at the end of my road and I havent seen any improvements in the local infrastructure... apart from temporary matchday car parks in the local school and more parking restrictions. No increase in noise though

Best I can think of for Anfield that would be feasible would be to make a huge car park in the docks area and bus everyone in. 80,000 would be something special a world class venue to make everyone take notice.

Just hope all the extra non-football events needed to produce the revenue doesnt leave us with a pitch that needs re-turfing every 3 months.

Surely you noticed the 2 bridges and changes to Holloway Road and Arsenal Tube stations?

                              Or am I just sad?

So, for the sake of argument let's say we started building a new 80,000 seater stadium this summer, with the full permission of the council.

How many years would that take to build ?

                                3 or 4 ?
