Gerrard On His Way To Palace

Steven Gerrard will this morning travel to Buckingham Palace to collect his MBE from The Queen.
The Liverpool skipper was recognised in the New Year Honours List for services to football having led his club to Champions League and FA Cup glory in the space of 12 months.

On hearing of the award back in December, Gerrard said: "I am absolutely thrilled and honoured to receive this recognition for playing a game I've loved all my life.

"I'd like to accept this on behalf of all those people who have been so supportive to me throughout my career, all my teammates over the years, everyone at Liverpool Football Club, everyone at Team England, all my family and friends and all those coaches who have helped me since I was eight."

****ing hell, talk about a misleading headline from the offy, here was me thiking Stevie G was all set to swap life at one of the worlds best to join Peter Taylor at Crystal Palace

Well played Stevie lad, thoroughly deserved
"Let me say for the record, I am not a gangster and never have been. Im not the thief who grabs your purse. Im not the guy who jacks your car. Im not down with the people who steal and hurt others. Im just a brother who fight back."

Yes well done Stevie although these awards are pretty meaningless these days.

Talking of misleading headlines, one I read today said "Air strikes in Israel", I feared the worst, thank goodness they were talking about industrial action

Thoroughly deserved? You've been one of Gerrard's biggest critics of late.

Have you turned a Houllier-like corner?
Are you the Judean People's Front?

I've said it several times before and i'll have to say it agin, Stevie is one of my favourite Liverpool players of all time, hence why i got his:
          Name on the home top
          DVD
          Autobiography
          Portrait of him

For sure, he's been piss poor this season and definetly needs to find form
and quickly but that shouldn't overshadow his achievements in the game.
Not to mention his excellent behaviour and conduct off the pitch.

sounds like you have a Mancrush.

Why dont you change your avatar to your favourite pic of Stevie G, the one that you showed me over MSN, the one with Alex Curran airbrushed out and your head pasted in over her body.

Its stupid him getting an MBE or any current sportsmen who are still playing getting honoured. It should be done when they are finished their career not during it when they have only won a few things if even that.
When you feel like you're done, you are not alone........
