    Crouch Truce

I think it's already obvious that the thing that causes us to lose the rag and bicker is Peter Crouch.

Over the next few weeks he'll probably play a bit.

If his first game or two are poor - well - i"m gonna be tempted to type about it and so are a few others.

Similarly, if he scores in his first appearances or two - I expect to be pounded.

No problem. I can take it - we all can.

But it's bad for the forum if we all go mad in a frenzy of in-fighting.

As such, I have a proposal.

Why don't we all agree to wait until we've played 4 league games before talking about him again?

Then we can all have a veritable orgy of Crouchbashing/Bizarrecrouchworship.

If you're willing to sign the pact - just say so on this thread.

If we have enough people maybe it'll work.

    Nice Idea.

    But it will never work.

      I'll support Crouch
I think it's a foul, and if the ref gives it. He got to give a penalty. I know it's outside the box, but you see them given that close to the area. So if the ref gives it he's got to give the penalty as it so close to the area. But I think it's a penalty. Robbie Savage 8/11/06

Nice sentiments but it probably won't work. I take your point entirely though - while debate is good and should be encouraged, some of the petty bickering and in-fighting relating to Crouch is good for no-one. Ultimately we all have a common goal, and I'd expect any of the Crouch bashers to want him to succeed and to want to be proved wrong.

It's the same for me with Pennant - when we were first linked with him I complained like f**k. I hope to God he proves me wrong.

You do, however, get a sneaking suspicion that one or two of the Crouch bashers on here actually want him to fail. Hope I'm wrong.

The extent to which he polarises opinion really is amazing though.
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

I don't think I'll ever worship Crouch (eg. getting his name printed on my shirt)

I have to admit I was one of the anti Bellamy supporters on here, but now he's here I want him make me look a bigger tit than I already am.

So not a good start. It takes bravery to say you'll join the truce.

(I'm very brave - I even started the thread)

I would love to be on here admitting I was wrong about Crouch... and Pennant!

How about a radical proposal that we get behind every player who puts on a Liverpool shirt regardless of his past, shape or playing ability?

That's called cheerleading. Good luck getting an outfit to fit you.

                    This is a forum.

We like to talk/discuss/debate issues related to the club, including the team and its performance.

I know it's a lot to take in, but maybe if you have a lie down and come back in a few years you'll enjoy it.

By the way, it really ****ing annoys me that you seem to think that I do anything other than scream support for Crouch, Zenden, Diao and all the other players I don't really rate when they're playing for Liverpool.

Oh, I get it. Real fans slag their team's players off then spend all their time on internet fora joining their 'cybermates' for a mass debate. :whatever:
