I know I could live to regret this rash, early judgement, but something tells me that 'mancdetester' really isn't very bright.

I'm prepared to take the risk.

I think it is perfectly possible to support the team while either feeling a player is not good enough or personally dislikable. I hope evryone in a liverpool shirt does well - because I want Liverpool to do well.

I will in all likelyhood back most players who I thikn put in the effort. In this case I think Crouch is a good player, and does a good job for us. I do however feel that there are substantial areas of his game that he needs to improve before he can feel safe that we will not be capable of buying in a more able replacement.

I don't quite understand why either side of the Crouch debate feel the need to descend into personal insults to make a point.

Both sides of this argument have a tendancy to bring threads down to petty name calling and squabling. I therfore whole heartedly support the call for a truce.

(Some may find it enlightening to see Brendan's player ratings thread for today - it appears that he really would accept Crouch as a player if he scored more often).

whats to regret ryan ? why would you of all people regret anything ? surely you would have to take your head from your arse to potentially realise any possibility of you having made a mistake ,and lets face it thats hardly likely to happen .
and whats with "im prepared to take the risk" bollocks i mean does anybody give a **** about the risks you take besides yourself.

If his first game or two are poor - well - i"m gonna be tempted to type about it and so are a few others.

Similarly, if he scores in his first appearances or two - I expect to be pounded.

No problem. I can take it - we all can.

But it's bad for the forum if we all go mad in a frenzy of in-fighting.

As such, I have a proposal.

Why don't we all agree to wait until we've played 4 league games before talking about him again?

Then we can all have a veritable orgy of Crouchbashing/Bizarrecrouchworship.

If you're willing to sign the pact - just say so on this thread.

If we have enough people maybe it'll work.
nice idea, but doubt it will work.

Ah well Crouch scored the winner against Chelsea today, what's there to be a truce about? There's no debate!
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

                Ha ha. Very well.

Let's hope he keeps it up and then there'll be no issue anymore.

Is this true of all the players or just Crouch?

Seems like a fella is critcised before the season starts

The abuse of Crouch is pathetic. It smacks of schoolground bullying, picking on the weird kid. In this case someone who is taller than average. Sad.

As I said many times, we were a lot better when we had 2 strikers on the pitch with Gerrard in midfield...Gerrard or Garcia are not strikers. Crouch was efficient because he had a partner beside him. He was useless in 1st half when he was alone up front. Crouch and Bellamy (or Fowler or Sinama or "The done deal Kuyt") have to play together.
Now Rafa do me a favour, keep playing like this, your 4-4-1-1, 4-2-3-1 are useless and boring.
