I for one am more likely to give Gerrard the benefit of the doubt than Ronaldo, and it has nothing to do with Liverpool bias.

In an ideal world you would judge each incident on its own merits, but it's not an ideal world. People arejudged by what they have done in the past, and Ronaldo can have no complaints if he is being tarred with this brush
    Fair enough.

Yes, Ronaldo has previous. Supposing he wants to cut it out now. Will everyone just keep going back to his 'form', even if he cuts it out?

If so, would it be fair for people to do the same, with regards to SG's tackling? Naysmith, Boetang etc?

Everytime SG goes in with a hard tackle, people go back to those incidents and say he's a dirty fecker who should be banned - would that be fair?

I judge each incident on its own merits, not previous 'form'.
Must be great living in that Utopia of yours mate. Tell us what it's like.

when was the last time Gerrard made a dirty tackle? Compare to the last time Ronaldo dived? And then compare the proximity of Ronaldo's last dive to his penultimate dive? Like it or not, previous form is relevant. Otherwise a mass murderer would get the same sentence as someone who killed just once.

If you'd had a criminal past, but were now going straight, i'm sure you'd not be keen to be wrongly accused of a crime, if you werent guilty of it, just because of your past.

            This is all very interesting.
Right if I had a criminal past and I reoffended I can assure you it WOULD be taken into account, and I'm no lawyer but I know that.

To use the term "wrongly accused" you seem to be saying Ronaldo was fouled and didn't dive. Fair enough, but the majority of the non Man Utd world disagree with you including Sky TV cameras.

Then you go on to say you have a gripe with Gerrard because he's building up a catalogue of these incidents. I won't argue that, but isn't that the opposite of what you are arguing for in Ronaldo's case?

It's a good question. I heard it was this weekend. Surely not?

And they'll go forwards, won't they?

On Ronaldo: "There was contact, but he dived"

On Gerrard: "It was the defender's fault, because he made contact"
