I wholeheartedly agree with AF here.
Kewell is still a very good player.
Unfortunately, injured all the time, so I doubt we will see him at LFC for another season.

We didn't pay a huge fee for Kewell, based on the market prices that time, hence his larger salary. To use that to bash him is a bit simplistic in my view, although we all crave for the performances he gave for Leeds. But then again, I also think that we have some sort of idealised and selective memory of those performances - remembering the good ones, forgetting the poorer.

    Mediocre?
Some have, but to say the majority has been; no, not in my opinion.
Last season he was very good.

A bit odd this, it seems like players like Finnan, SG, Momo and Kuyt amongst others are almost of considered immune to criticism, yet creative players like Pennant, Kewell, Garcia, even Xabi at times, and Morientes when he was here, are easy targets. So easy to jump on them, where as others are excused for various reasons, dependent on what is fitting at the time.

Kewell's back, I'd rather play Sheree at LM than Harry. Sooner he's sold, or should that be, given away, the better.
you know him personally do you?

i laugh at some of you. You act like he has killed a family member FFS

the bloke has been injured for the best part of three seasons now. He managed to play most of last season..and was one of our most effective players. Accuse him of being lazy...even though you have never met the guy. Then the typical aussie bashing comes out.

        sad

what aussie bashing. i just think he's been poor for us and isn't the answer, and if i was in charge then he'd be gone yesterday. nothing to do with him being australian. where'd that come from?

Kewell by his own admission is one of the best players in the world???!! but thats the frustration with him, we know he has it in his locker, unfortunate with injuries ....will go down as Jari as one of the biggest dissapointments in a red shirt

His ability to beat a fullback and put a decent cross in these days is very questionable. He was supposedly fit (or near enough) last season and didn't look particularly good, with a good game against Chelsea not changing anything. The fact that he finished the season with only 3 goals and 3 assists to his name underlines this.

Yes, he's our best winger at the moment, but that says more about our other wingers than it does about him. We need better than Gonzalez, Pennant et al, but we also need better than Kewell.

Not arsed whether he's here next season.

Of course i dont, but at the same time you can hardly blame Harry for his injuries

Nope, and I don't blame him either.
                          Some appear to do though

The first thing you will read on the Echo when Kewell starts training 100%

                            "Kewell out for ten months".

Harry Kewell is injured! The unlucky footballer collided with a gopher at Melwood early monday morning after finally returning to the squad after ten months injury. As a result he broke his foot in three different places and will not be expected to play again until February 2008. The player has returned to Bondi beach for extensive treatment.

He is expected to accept an offer to star in the leading role in Neil Simons aclaimed play 'The Glass Man' which will hit Broadway in December.

We were somewhere around Barstow on the edge of the desert when the drugs began to take hold.

No one knows how fit Kewell will be.

He can have sorted out his injury problems now. Just look at Gerrard for example who had injury problems early in his career. He took a summer off and sorted it out and that cured his injury problems.

You can say the same thing about Owens hamstring injuries. He used a whole year with special training to almost cure that problem. He hasn't had even close to that many hamstring injuries since then. His latest two injuries is unlucky ones that can't be blamed on him.

You can sort out difficult injury problems if you get the time to sort them out. The problem is that top class players gets rushed back to early because the team needs them. Look at Henry for example. He was rushed back and is now out for the rest of the season.

Kewell have now got the time he needs to sort out his problems IMO. I don't think he will have any bigger injury problems again if you count out unlucky ones that can't be blamed on him being injury prone.
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

if they conducts themself off the field well, you cnat blame anyone for being injury prone. I am sure he will go down in the chris 'will injure myself on my deathbed' kirkland as just an unlucky player.*

                                * as unlucky as you can get on thousands of pounds a week for a few hrs rehab a day
