I wholeheartedly agree with AF here.
Kewell is still a very good player.
Unfortunately, injured all the time, so I doubt we will see him at LFC for another season.
We didn't pay a huge fee for Kewell, based on the market prices that time, hence his larger salary. To use that to bash him is a bit simplistic in my view, although we all crave for the performances he gave for Leeds. But then again, I also think that we have some sort of idealised and selective memory of those performances - remembering the good ones, forgetting the poorer.
Mediocre?
Some have, but to say the majority has been; no, not in my opinion.
Last season he was very good.
A bit odd this, it seems like players like Finnan, SG, Momo and Kuyt amongst others are almost of considered immune to criticism, yet creative players like Pennant, Kewell, Garcia, even Xabi at times, and Morientes when he was here, are easy targets. So easy to jump on them, where as others are excused for various reasons, dependent on what is fitting at the time.
