True in his younger days he often sprinted clear of defenders and slotted past the keep but after a few years and severe hamstring problems he lost a bit of pace but he adapted his game and continued to score a ****load of goals for club and country.
You dont need pace to finish moves off or get yourself in the right positions to score a goal.

He'd get us 20 goals a season easily, if we want to win the title, his goals could make all the difference.
He's never scored 20 league goals for us.
Well, here we are in a room with two manky hookers and a racist dwarf. I think I'm heading home.

Where did marky mention 20 league goals?

Owen scored 19 Premiership goals a season on a couple of occasions...that's one in two, IF he'd played all 38 games, which he wouldnt have.

So basically, better than 1 in 2 in the league. Not good enough? I wonder then, what is...

Well said DJS, there'll be less of it Dhavlos, alright? *points finger at dhavlos*

Last time Owen was even vaguely LFC related was summer 2005 when he chose Newcastle instead of us.

So anytime someone posts a thread about the idea of LFC signing a player, it shouldnt be in the LFC forum?

Do you object to the Klose thread too?

no he wouldn't he would be injured and out of form - he would probably score 8 in 16 and 3 of those would be a hatrick during one of his purple patches.

He doesnt specify 20 league goals, he says 20 goals, and then says that if we want to win the league, Owen could make a difference with his goals. No sign of him specifically saying 20 league goals, i think you're making 5 from 2+2

Not that it specifically matters mind, the general point is true - that Owen scores goals. Shrugging off the suggestion based on the fact that he's been ONE short of 20 in the league before, is a bit pedantic IMO.

Maybe it takes you to go away just to realise where you really belong. Dont get me wrong i wasnt happy when he left i felt like he saw himself as bigger then the club and didnt give Rafa the respect and time he deserved, you could saw that Stevie was in the same situation but his heart was in Liverpool and no where else maybe thats the difference.

Owen i would say goes to bed every night wishing he was still at Liverpool and also when he's away with England he misses the craic Stevie and Carra.

I wouldn't want him back. He was a great servant for the club whilst he was here but we've moved on. I honestly don't see what he could offer now and he would possibly be one of Rafas most uninspired signings if he wasto return. I would be completely underwhelmed by his arrival.

**** me, its repetitive this, ill summarise my feelings and then ill never mention them again...you guys would be sensible to do the same, ok, me personally I WOULD have him back....i think hes screwed us and all that but he is a proven goalscorer so for under 10 mill id buy him....id rather him than bent, defoe, van horseface etc etc. Ill never mention it again.....

It's staggering how short people's memories are. Either that, or how ungrateful they can be.

Mate, he'd offer goals. We dont have an out and out goalscorer and we badly need one. I cant see how he fails to fit the bill.
