Liverpool striker Florent Sinama-Pongolle looks set to have his season-long loan at Spanish club Recreativo de Huelva made permanent.

The 22 year-old has scored nine goals in 14 starts for the club, who it is believed now want to take up the option on the French under-21 player a complete a £4million deal.

Sinama-Pongolle has already said he would like to stay in Spain and has verbally agreed personal terms, Recreativo will raise money for the deal by selling Ikechukwu Uche to Getafe and midfielder Santiago Cazorla to Villarreal in the summer.

That is a very good deal for the club if the report is true.

It would be a good deal. I'd be a bit sad, as I think the lad will have a good career. He tried and seemed to always care about the club.

9 goals in 14 starts. Surely that's worth at least 4 mill!

Have we ever really seen Pongo being played as a real striker for LFC? I can't recall that he ever got the chance up front. Maybe against Betis away when he scored that super goal?

There many other occasions in fairness and he never really cut it for us, which was a shame as I really wanted him to succeed.

Without Pongolle no number five. He was the main reason to why we won against Olympiakos.
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

Yep. He had his moments - Olympiakos, Betis, Luton - but, as I said, most of the time he didn't do enough.

Yes we did. In that 2004/05 season, when we usually started half of our games with Mellor and FSP in attack.
