you finished third last season, fifth before that. Arsenal had a blip last year.

What makes you think you can even keep third place let alone move about man utd and the champions for two years in a row?

The reason we think we can finish above Man Utd, is two-fold:

1) we have a better midfield, and similar attacking threat with RVN gone from Man U

Do you really think Giggs / Richardson, Scholes, Carrick & Ronaldo /Park is better than our MF?

And their attack of Rooney, Solskjaer, Smith, Saha is better than Crouch, Bellamy, Fowler (and probably Kuyt)?

2) If it wasn't for Ferdinand's last minute header last year, and Cisse's amazing miss, we would have finished above Man U

The reason we think we can finish above Arsenal is as follows:

1) Arsenal's Defence and Midfield isn't a patch on ours:

With Cole gone the defence is likely to be as follows:

Defence: Eboue, Toure, Senderos / Cygan, Clichy

2) Our midfield is better than Arsenal's midfield too:

Arsenal Midfield: Lauren, Fabregas, Hleb, Rosicky, Famini, Gilberto, Ljungberg

and it's likely Reyes is gone and Bergkamp retired.

Up front Arsenal also look light: Henry, van Persie, Adebayor, Walcott & Aliadiere - with only Henry the only consistent scorer

So who's squad do you think is the strongest of the 3 main rivals. I'd say LFC's by far

I know that you are desparate to convince youself that you will get your third in a row and maybe you will. But we beat you in two very important games that you thought you would win as you were better than us and we went on to lift those trophies and this year we will have a far better and more organised team (and you know that), so let's see what happens. I'd like to think that we will at least give you a run for your money.

Virtually the same squad except they no longer have one of the best strikers in the game.

We have virtually the same squad except we have strengthened in all areas and only weakened in one (Hamann) which happens to be our strongest area anyway.

I'm no fan of Pennant or Bellamy as people know. However, Pennant looks as though he's settled quickly. If we get a proper goalscoring partner for Bellamy as is rumoured this week (Kuyt), we will have more firepower, and Crouch and Fowler will do some damage from the bench, when we need to change things.

We now have perfect balance in MF which is required to win the Prem, as evidenced by Giggs / Scholes / Keane / Beckham and Duff or Cole / Lampard / Makalele / Robben. Given that Duff is gone and SWP yet to find any form at all at Chelsea, we potentially have the best MF in the country:

Gonzalez / Gerrard / Alonso / Pennant

with Kewell, Sissoko, Garcia & Anderson to be added

If I were Chelsea I would be at least sitting up and taking note, if not being worried.

I wouldn't rely on pennant for the whole season, and you cant trust garcia there either.

What annoys me about fans like you is we only hear from you in recent times. Where were you losers in the 70's, 80's 90's??? The only reason you are any good now is because of money pure and simple. How good would you be if you were run on our budget? You are just a front runner and when Roman decides he needs to win the Spanish, Italian or French leagues we wont be hearing from you again. He wants the European Cup and when he gets that he is out of there. We have people like you here in the States who wear the team colors of the team that wins the Superbowl, we never see those jerseys any other time. I, and my fellow board members on this site, are proud to say we have been Liverpool for many years and we have always been heard, we have followed our team through thick and thin. As one poster has already said we were EST 1892 you were EST 2003.

Gerrard and alonso doesnt work as well as sissoko and alonso.

Pennant - one good season at brum, and that wasnt fantastic jaw dropping stuff.

Garcia - very good but not consistent.
