Why no Villa?

If you were Eto'o, would you move? Barcelona, constantly challenging for the league title, won the european cup last year, huge stadium, big money, class attacking players around him, league where he's acclimatised, country where he's acclimatised. Or LFC, possibly similar money, probably not more (new guys have more money but they're not stupid), possible league title challenge, possibly won the european cup this season, league where he's not certain to be suited, new language, worse climate, smaller stadium, worse attacking players around him (talking strikers and wingers here).

I just don't see it. Even if he's unhappy at Barca, he could go anywhere in the world. Why us?

You have to look at it this way.
The have been living in Spain, its hot, they have a siesta during the day, there is less fixtures, they play for clubs with big champions league credentials. Its a hard bargain unless silly wages are invloved, which i dont think rafa would pay, maybe it has changed now like but i dont know.
I cant think of the last BIG player barca sold? or Valencia?

Really? Mind you it wasnt a bad winter this year, i never needed a coat and i am bad for cold like, i live nearish the docks aswell the wind chill is pretty bad sometimes.

Rafa is Arkwright when it comes to buying. I'd love for someone of Villa's talent to join but I can't see a/ Rafa spending 25mil on one player and b/ Valencia allowing him to join us.

I think we are looking more a Klose or Huntelaar type player, than one from the very top of the pile.

The money only means Rafa can get who he wants 1st time round rather than having to settle for second best, it doesn't mean we have to splash it all on the very top players with egos, and we would need income to match the wages first off, which we don't currently have.

Yeah central spain gets a fair spaltering of snow, we have a comparetively mild winter compared to most places in Europe.

really?? EVERYONE thought crouch was overpriced, i think if he thought Villa/Eto would cost 30million and bring us the title he would spend it, owners permitting of course. We couldn't afford Alves after Sevilla did a Simao on us, that's the reason to why we didn't sign him, not because we wasn't prepared to pay over the odds.

Signing Alves would have meant no Kuyt.

Villa was poor, he was bullied of the ball by Terry at all times and really looked lightweight. I know its one game, but he wasnt that impressive

Silva was much better, as a more skillful/fast version of Little Luis

Joaquin was laughable (end product)

Best players were Ayala - great leader and Albiol and Miguel - real class

One of Joaquin, Silva or Vicente will probably be sold in the summer. Valencia have signed Mata and he will play on one of the wings.

I would love it if Rafa signed Silva, fantastic player. I doubt that Valencia would even consider selling him.
