Why no Villa?

I don't know for sure, but the fact that people within the club have bandied the names of Villa, Eto'o and Torres as realistic targets lead me to be convinced of this fact. Of course I could be wrong.

So who in the club has voiced these players as targets? I'm not disputing this BTW, but if you have links to these reports I would appreciate them.

The only time I've seen these players linked is through the media or their agents, and all prior to Rafa's sit down meeting with Hicks and Gillet.

I'm not so sure now, not after his difference of opinion with Rikaard, but then it may not come down to how much Barca would accept, but how much other teams are likely to offer, but according to DJS that'll be pocket money anyway.

More or less every big club in Europe will have a lot of money to spend this summer. If Eto'o is available then all of them would probably make a bid for him.

I wouldn't be surprised if he will cost around £60m. He is the best striker in the world.

The only way I can see him join us is if he says that he will only sign for us. He would then be a lot cheaper to sign.

If a player states that he wishes to leave, doesn't he lose all entitlement to a percentage of the transfer?
