    I'd strongly consider that swop.
Raul doesnt strike me as motivated or feeling like he has anything to prove.

Garcia's effective for us. Why swap them? We dont know whether Raul would be arsed or not.

I would like to see Garcia playing just behind Raul.

I just feel it's once bitten twice shy after Moro. Totally unjustified i know to tarnish Raul with that brush, but i really don't see how Raul would succeed where Moro failed???

Surely now with cash in pocket we can set our sights that little bit higher and sign players on the up rather than on the decline?

They are different players. They used to play together, not compete for a place.

I don't see it myself. They always seemed like identical types of players.

What differences did you have in mind?

Well, Raul is more of a poacher. He used to feed of Moro and score more goals then him. Raul is not strong in the air like Moro ( target striker heading ) but is better on the ball and has a great first touch and finishing, including with his head. He is really a simular player to Fowler.

I would like to see chance conversion stats for Raul, but I would think they are world class.

I think he would be a complete disaster for Liverpool.

We would be better steering well clear and signing a player that has got his best years ahead of him.
Twin boys - now arriving late August 2008.

Its gonna be Fernando and Gerrard if I get my way!

He hasn't played as a striker the last years. I don't know why Real decided to change his position and move him one step back on the pitch.

He was probably one of the best finishers in the world before they changed his position.

Who knows what he could do if he would play as a striker again.
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

Well, he is a natural finisher. And there are very few of those around.

Kuyt plays in the same position for us as Raul for Real. Both of them works very hard for the team and plays behind one or more strikers.

The problem is that he hasn't been the same player after his knee injury.

I was just thinking that they were both around the box style poachers, and neither was blessed with pace, but both are ok with the head. Goals a plenty in Spain but over here is a different matter.

The one thing you mentioned there though was that Moro often had to play second fiddle to Raul which was mainly due to the fans adoration of him (just like Stevie with us). Which ultimatley means Raul would not get the luvvy duvvy cotton wool treatment if he ever left Madrid.

I don't think it would work.

Like I said. If this is true, the key thing for Rafa IMHO is chance conversion.

I´m saying that Moro was the target man and Raul the poacher. That is why he got more goals.

So you would be happy to get Raul now that we have cash at our disposal?

                              (I wouldn't for the record).

I´m not sure. If he was playing on top in front of Quaresma, Gerrard and Tevez I would not be surprised if he got 25 goals a season. Like I said, the one thing he can do is finish. And if we spend our money on great creative players ( Kaka? ) and they give Raul three good chances a game he will score allot of goals.

Would I prefer him to Eto, Villa, Torres or Klose? NO.
