Sorry mate, but Cisse was ****. He could have scored 40 goals and still wouldnt have convinced me otherwise.

At the top level of sport, it is the ability to distinguish that makes you stand out from the crowd. Cisse had absolutely no ability to do that - he just ran (occasionally) and shot (often). Any player who does that in a winning team will always get a bit of joy, but without that ability to make distinctions you'll never be a top player.

i find that hard to believe. If he had of scored that many goals he would be looked at as a god.

alot of strikers just want to score goals....thats their job, that want they want to do. Djibs was one of these types. Trezeguet is another (all be it a better finisher)

Djibs would of thrived under Geds system.

If we dont get a decent return for him i would take him back....he may not be "Liverpool" class, but he certainly CAN score goals, and he does offer genuine pace.

That being said, if we signed Eto'o i would tell him to feck off

Cisse isn't good enough for the premiership - his positioning was woeful and I'd say Rafa bauked at his earnings and was glad to have a chance to get him off the payroll.

No-one in their right mind would prefer Voronin to Cisse.

Big difference. I have no expectations for Voronin because of this. If he's crap we sell him in Jan for £2m or so. Easy money. Cisse is a decent player who I think next season will score goals where ever hes at and then be linked with top clubs again. But LFC dont play the old GH style of kick and rush football which Cisse is best suited too. He just stayed off side and blasted the ball instead of placing it.

Think Owen at his peak. That is what we need now, not Cisse, who is struggling at Marseille. Imagine if we had kept him. If he cant reach the pace of the french league how would he have done in the prem?

Whatever happens, Im glad he was loaned out, and I'll be glad when he's sold.

personally i think cisse had a hard time with us, out of position, rotated, injured....i reckon he would be a hell of an option as a squad player, id certainly have him ahead of fowler, voronin and maybe even bellamy. Would never be my 1st, 2nd or 3rd choice striker but a useful sub, cover, all the same.

I remember when Ireland knocked Holland out of the WC 2002 qualifiers, and the Dutch players could not accept it, saying "but we're better" - bollocks. As individuals, definitely. But, as you say, football's a team game and that's why Scotland and Norn Iron are doing well. It's great to see.

Bellamy's close control at speed is far superior to Cisse, also his use of space and movement is much better. Cisse? He has all the atributes to be a top player but has no natural feel or intelligence for the game.
