Liverpool to trump Chelsea for £12M Alves

Liverpool are planning a £12 million bid for Sevilla star Daniel Alves.

The Daily Mail says Anfield owners George Gillett and Tom Hicks have given Rafa Benitez the green light to outbid Chelsea for one of La Liga's best players.

Benitez is continuing to monitor Alves despite Chelsea's interest in the versatile Brazilian, who is equally comfortable as a right-back or winger.

Having watched both closely for the past year or so I have come to the conclusion that Simao is the better player for us if Rafa still want him.
Simao is a two footed natural winger who defends as good as assisting and scoring.
On the other hand, Alves is predominantly one footed. He only uses the left foot to stand on. Big example today v Spurs. He did not once touch the ball with his left foot. He reminds me a lot of Riise.?

simao is WAY better than anybody we have - SG excepted - for the RM position. he would also provide another key factor in his dead ball delivery.

alves looks a world beater AT FULL BACK in a roberto carlos/cafu sort of mould. major doubts over whether he can play RM in the EPL for me

Furthermore, Simao would cost us less than Alves. Maybe we can get Simao for 10-12£ m instead of 20-25£ mill for Alves.
Just my opionion like but what do you think ?

as a wing back cant really think of anyone better than Alves.

Not a Simao fan at all, I think he's gash. Decent at set pieces but we've pretty much got those covered already

I agree about Simao, but I would rather us sign Quaresma

I wouldn't want Simao irrespective of whether we get Alves or not.
