PSV. Are we home and dry?

A goal early on for us and we're into the Semi's.

But are we home and dry regardless? An early goal for them, then another around the 75-80 minute mark and we are in for a nervous ending. 3-3 into extra time and their tails will be up. Should we rest players or put out a first choice 11? Are we taking this game to lightly?

For the record I think we will go through but not sure it will be as easy as it seems everyone thinks it will be.

we are through, im 110% confident of that, although, I would not go reasting the entire first team, maybe one or two of our players than could do with a rest yes. But thats about it.
Bill shankly to Tommy Smith after he'd turned up for training with a bandaged knee:
'Take that poof bandage off, and what do you mean YOUR knee, it's LIVERPOOL'S knee !'

"Sorry, boss, I should have kept my legs together," said Lawrence. "No, Tommy, your mother should have kept her legs together!," replied Shankly.

Losing streaks always end though. Could it end on Wednesday?

I wouldn't be surprised if we lose 1-0 to be honest.

Rafa will change it, I don't think there's a doubt about that. Crouchie has started the last 3 so that's him out. Fowler and Bellers upfront, Pennant on the wing. Possibly Carra rested with Sami and Agger at the back? Zenden will start.

I've got a feeling it'll be a crap game. I'm still going though.
Dreams come true. Without that possibility, nature would not incite us to have them.

Did AA PM you and and ask you to post this, sounds very much like one of his "we are doomed" posts for sure.

Cautiously optimistic with 3 away goals in the bag is how we should be, as I would be with a 1-1 away from home, we should be going into this match with the hope of scoring another 3 at home, without being cocky enough to suggest we are through, a professional approach is the key here.

I think we can rest some players, with the knowledge that our fringe players are all professional enough and capable enough to do the job.

The likes of Zenden, Fowler, Hyypia and co are all good enough to stabilise things and we're talking about international players.

Obviously you wouldnt just put in a 2nd string side, but you can maybe put in 6 1st teamers and 5 fringe players and that'd be enough.

PSV arent THAT good, so as to overturn the defecit, even if we do put in a weaker XI.

I think we should be reasonably fresh for the run in. We havent played too many games over the past 6 weeks and Rafa's rationale for rotation over the season was to have fresher players at the business end. We have a maximum of 10 games left. I say stuff resting anyone, lets go for for it all. Play our best side in every game and only rest in the league when third is guaranteed (which I reckon will be with 2 games to go).

I'd just be keen to ensure players arent going to pick up daft bookings in this 2nd leg, there's no need for it and it could be harmful in the next round.

PSV need 4 at Anfield and PSV are ****ing woeful. It's nailed on. OK PSV 'may' win the match, but the tie is certain.

I don't want to see Gerrard in this game, he's shot.

I'd start with Momo and Javier in the middle, with Bellamy up front with Kuyt.

Anyone else that's showing signs of tiredness should also be rested. Sami could come back for this one, being an old head.

Ring the changes by all means, but sorry Dudek... no ****ing chance.
