I watch a fair bit of Spanish footie on Sky & Alves has never overly impressed me to be honest. Obviously he's a decent player but I don't see it as a major problem if we don't get him, plenty more fish in the sea.

i watch a fair bit too and i would totally disagree, as in he has more than impressed me week in week out, and according to hunter and balague on revista, and most of the spanish press, he has been the best player in spain this season bar none.
obviously lfc will continue to survive without him but he is someone i would love to see at the pool........so too would rafa

I can't understand why most of you think that we won't have any chance to sign Alves.

Alves first choice is Liverpool and we can now afford him.

I wouldn't bet £50 if I wasn't very sure that we will sign him.

i saw the interview last week and he was very frank.
it came accross that 1. he never said or suggested that barca were box seat
2. he never said that he will leave, and that he was v happy
3. he would now be an lfc player if a deal was reached.
he is a real target and we have the funds and rafa likes him
