im sorry, but im not that much of a stalkerOriginally posted by Tom View Postexactly, and every other final we've played in the last few years.
Bill shankly to Tommy Smith after he'd turned up for training with a bandaged knee:
'Take that poof bandage off, and what do you mean YOUR knee, it's LIVERPOOL'S knee !'
"Sorry, boss, I should have kept my legs together," said Lawrence. "No, Tommy, your mother should have kept her legs together!," replied Shankly.
* After Tommy Lawrence had let in a fluke goal between his legs

I'm sure I remember you doing the same thing prior to the FA Cup final, you little minx!
"Even men with steel hearts love to see a dog on the pitch". It generates a warmth around the ground that augurs well for mankind and that's what life's about. Trouble is these days you never see a dog on the pitch".

you posted a very similar thread on kt in 2005
and it didnt pan out like you called it.
you have always been excessively pessimistic - i gave it up as the protection mechanism it was for me, many years ago
can i give you an optimists view:
we will get past chelsea becauseOriginally posted by Tom View PostReason 1
We wont get past chelski, because:
i) they owe us one for the last semi.
ii) it's maureen's last season, and the players are doing it for him.
iii) at some point all that money has got to pay off.
1) we beat them in a semi every year
2)it's maureen's last season, and the players are doing it for him.- yet we still beat them in the league when we never have before and outplayed them in the 1-0 defeat.
3)at some point all that money has got to pay off but it has already happened and abramovic's millions will count AGAINST chelski come the semi
4)lfc do substantially better with a euro refereee than with ANY of the premiership goons who consistently favour the chavs/mancs
if we do get to the final, we WONT loose to the mancs, because:Originally posted by Tom View PostReason 2
if we do get to the final, we'll loose to the mancs, because:
i) they always beat us in big finals.
ii) it's fergie's last season, and the players are doing it for him.
iii) it's the 40th anniversary of their first european cup, this year they are the team of destiny.
iv) after their huge victory last night they have the big mo, they are the team of destiny.
v) they're a better team than us.
I can feel it in me waters.
1)they wont be there
2)they had their greatest ever european night yesterday and theres another team from the bavaria region who might just fancy another little helping of revenge in their way
3)they can stick their "team of detiny up their arse"
stand by for number 6
drunk knows best

Apart from the fact that they first won it in 1968 - 39 years ago, not 40 - and Ferguson has said it won't be his last season - not forgetting that we beat them in the League Cup Final (not a big final in your view perhaps) - thanks for your views. I would have watched the game, but your forensic examination of the likely outcome makes it clear that I'd be wasting my time. So thanks once again. I won't bother now.Originally posted by Tom View PostReason 1

I won't of course disrespect your hagiography by suggesting that even an ageing Milan are too sophisticated for the team given a spanking last weekend by the sleeping giants that are Portsmouth as you obviously know more than I do about football.

I don't understand the reaction, but then, I am a pessimist too
We must be wary of Chelsea, when we knocked them out in 2005 it really hurt them. Do you remember Cole saying how he couldn't watch the final and us winning it was like a kick in the guts because it should have been them? They now have their chance to revenge that hurt.
We must be wary of Manure (assuming they get through) when the key players are fit they are a very very good side. Ronaldo is at the moment playing some of the best football in Europe, whilst the likes of Giggs and Scholes are having wonderful Indian Summers. It also looks like they have that old Manure mental toughness back and they will thrive on the pressure of a one off game.
We are great in Europe partly because we seem to play well against European opposition, playing Manure, and to a lesser extent Chelsea, will be like playing Prem game and so our Euro form will count for nothing.
Having said all that, not all is doom and gloom, I keep reminding myself that AFII's avatar is yet to be wrong this season and that on OUR day we too can beat anyone.
Fingers crossed and as Neil pointed out, lets just enjoy it.
Go Go Super Liverpool

This negative stuff is bollocks, we can ****ing do it and we should be dreaming of number 6, not sick thinking about how others will beat us.I love Sarah
