Thanjk you.

Perhaps I phrased the coach thing wrongly. It's clear that Rafa has a great tactical brain, particularly when it comes to Europena & continental style football. It's clear that his style of football works in certain arenas better than others.
This thread will make far better reading if we all just argue the points rather than reel of insults at each other. Anyway, let's put it in perspective, we were **** today, but we're 2 points clear in 3rd and it's the CL we're really looking to now anyway. Stevie has undoubtedly been poor this season by his standards, I know a lot of people will disagree but I think a lot of that is to do with the way he is being asked to play by Rafa.
As far as I´m concerned, he is being asked to play the role any footballer of his type dreams of.
Would Gerrard play more consistently if he had Giggs, Ronaldo & Rooney running around him feeding off him therefore being a step up from what Scholes does, so therefore the flip side of that - is it a lack of quality around him that we currently offer that drags him down to their level?

I think that could be a reason, but then that does not look to good for Gerrard.
He should be giving his all for LFC.
I think next season with a full rest behind him and decent pace up front i.e. someone who can play off the defender's shoulder we will see Stevie back to his best. Kuyt will play the role Stevie did today I'm guessing or there will be no room for him as a starter give he certainly can't spearhead our attack with his tendencies to drop so deep.
At the end of the day sadly top 4 is all we have left to play for in league so I'd rather our players don't dive into tackles and get injured before the Chav games.

Does make you wonder if that is something that plays on their minds, didn't sem to bother Mascherano tho

But if the others around were of equal ability and could gave their all, and more, then you would raise your game to their level each time, sadly we don't have them players.
You cannot ask one man to constantly run the show each & every game, the responsibility has to be shared, he did this one season and prob will never do it again, and this is where we fall down, we don't have "strong willed & gifted" players that can take up the slack when SG is off his game, a lot of hard workers maybe, but a team mix of skilled, mentally up for it & hard working players is what we need.
oh of course, just sayin that he's setting the example at the moment the other players should follow, I think Rafa knows exactly what he's doing playing him at the moment
