I agree with Phil insomuchas we needn't have played Momo tonight,We played Momo tonight because Maybe,Just Maybe Boro would have come out fighting. They did`nt but atleast Alonso got a rest.Game plans are put together with the opposition in mind,Once rafa saw that Boro were worser(I know) than usual he changed his formation.Tonights formation was all about giving Alonso,SpeedyG and Finnan and Arebola a break.Bigger fish to fry, lads. we need every creative player we have on the pitch at the moment when we're not short of possession but are struggling to pick our way through teams, and Momo is definitely not that. Hope to ****ing God we get some genuine attacking quality into the side this summer because sometimes our lack of it tells so ****ing badly.

Just got back from the game .....Originally posted by Red_Polo View PostLet's face it we only had one player out there tonight whose individual brilliance was likely to create something from nothing. .
Gerrard was piss poor tonight. He scored a very good goal and converted a pen - full stop. I'd like to know his interpretation of where he was supposed to be playing. If he was supposed to be supporting Crouch then he didn't do it.
Our best player was Pennant - but he drifted out of the game around the 70 min mark. Masher played well also.
Sissoko was dreadful. Couldn't find a red shirt all night. To ask him to do anything other than 'destroy' is asking a bit too much.Liverpool born and bred.

highlights are on sky sports 1 in a min after the break if anyone is interested.Bill shankly to Tommy Smith after he'd turned up for training with a bandaged knee:
'Take that poof bandage off, and what do you mean YOUR knee, it's LIVERPOOL'S knee !'
"Sorry, boss, I should have kept my legs together," said Lawrence. "No, Tommy, your mother should have kept her legs together!," replied Shankly.
* After Tommy Lawrence had let in a fluke goal between his legs

You should watch Sopcast for free.Originally posted by lfc4ever View PostAnd the final text tonight: Rafa's wise words are:
Message: LFC VIEW: RB: "We know Steven Gerrard can change games and he did that for us with a great shot from distance for the first goal. That was the key."
And I pay for that!

SG was piss poor indeed. Again. What I meant was he's the only player of that class we had out there. Even when on song, the others are not all that likely to produce a piece of individual brilliance to win it for us.Originally posted by Howard_lfc View PostJust got back from the game .....

Quinncy, do you not think Rafa should have known we'd not be struggling for possession or in need of Momo to keep them in check? Boro at home and all? I think he played Momo because he's fresher than most, rather than anything tactical. In a way you can't blame Rafa because we've got **** ALL attacking options at the moment. It'll be a relief to have Kewell available and that's saying something.Like blood on iron

Kewell won`t revitalise a team that is in cruise control until the Chelsea game.Rafa was thinking of only one game today.he knew if he had to make a change it would make the difference.I doubt if he was ever really worried we wouldn`t win that game after bringing on a second striker. He still had two subs left if he felt we were in trouble. In truth we only needed to up our game for 6 mins to win that game then we went back to energy conservation.Originally posted by Red_Polo View PostSG was piss poor indeed. We tried the same against Cit-eh and got nowhere, and afterwards he was a bit pissed off. My point is, if we actually had some depth in attacking options, he would be able to rest people and we wouldn't have to look like a clueless pub team in doing so. I think having Kewell back, whenever that may be, will mean one more welcome option.Originally posted by Quinncy View PostKewell won`t revitalise a team that is in cruise control until the Chelsea game.Rafa was thinking of only one game today.he knew if he had to make a change it would make the difference.I doubt if he was ever really worried we wouldn`t win that game after bringing on a second striker. He still had two subs left if he felt we were in trouble. In truth we only needed to up our game for 6 mins to win that game then we went back to energy conservation.Like blood on iron
