where does it say this Fredo?
Bill shankly to Tommy Smith after he'd turned up for training with a bandaged knee:
'Take that poof bandage off, and what do you mean YOUR knee, it's LIVERPOOL'S knee !'

"Sorry, boss, I should have kept my legs together," said Lawrence. "No, Tommy, your mother should have kept her legs together!," replied Shankly.

Mate, Maestro's post does not answer my question. Also where does it say all 3 teams would auto qualify?

I suspect nobody knows the answer to my question.

I haven't quoted the text so will leave it at Maestro to retrieve that excerpt. I'm pretty sure that the top 2 teams are qualified automatically regardless.

I do, Well I thought I did before this thread. I thought this was the answer:

LFC (qualify automatically as winners & 3rd or 4th in the league)
Chavs (qualify automatically as league holders)
Man u (qualify via playoff for finishing 2nd in the league)
Arsenal (qualify via play off for finishing 3rd or 4th in the league)

I think that's correct. But obviously, like all UEFA documents, it's unclear and open to interpretation. :whatever:

Does it matter at this stage?
                    .
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

The logic will be that the strongest teams go into the CL (based on the league places). Add to that the fact that England's coefficient is really strong, so I guess the lowest placed club from the lowest placed country based on coefficients (for example Galatasaray) will have drop to the UEFA Cup.

Well, it depends if you are fond of Sudokus. It's irrelevant if not.

Somewhere in the document there's a matrix of qualifying teams (Annex), and it has the title holder always in the group stages, as well as the top 2 teams in England.
There's nothing to say anywhere that suggests anything would change if we didn't finish in the top 2.

would be so cool wouldn't it, also add that to them loosing in the final of the FA cup. so that would mean, us winning the Champions League again, Chavski winning the league and domestic cup double and Man U with no trophies for the season

I was thinking you would be trawling through the whole document poindexter
I still pretty sure 2nd would have to qualify
