3pts in the bag. Good solid performance. Pennant was MOM for me, good performances by Arbeloa, Kuyt, Hypia, and Reina for his save.

Bellers and Agger shone when they came on as well.

Bill shankly to Tommy Smith after he'd turned up for training with a bandaged knee:
'Take that poof bandage off, and what do you mean YOUR knee, it's LIVERPOOL'S knee !'

"Sorry, boss, I should have kept my legs together," said Lawrence. "No, Tommy, your mother should have kept her legs together!," replied Shankly.

Great to see kuyt back on the score sheet. I think that now means we cannot finish outside the top 4 so it's CL again for us next season.

            Top stuff.

I hope Pennant starts in at least the home leg against Chelsea. Our players look in fine form. Now it gets deadly serious. Hopefully Newcastle will run them ragged tomorrow.

                          It's a tricky one.

I want Chelsea to win so they can still pip the mancs for the title.

But if they drew or lost that would basically be the title race over and their morale would take a bit of a hit.

Pure madness if you ask me.
It is an odd one. the only thing I can think is that Rafa feels Gerrard performs better with constant games. Reina, Carra and Gerrard seem to be the only players he doesn't like to rotate (except for Reina in the cups obviously).

Prefer them to win, as then they could not rest players before the second leg against us, as they would still be chasing the league.

Yep, I want them to scrape a win in a very hard fought, tiring game.
