He scored some goals and played excellent for us before his injury problems started IMO. After that he hasn't really been 100% fit.
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

Don't forget that when he's been fit over the past couple of years, Rafa has played him.

I remember reading somewhere about how Rafa saw Kewell for the first time when Leeds played Valencia in the Champions League in about 2001, and he's never forgotten how good he was that night.

It explains why he's been thrown into massive games like the League Cup Final and Champions League Final when he probably wasn't ready for it. I know he limped off in the FA Cup Final too, but that one was bad luck, he'd been having a good run in the side up until then.

I think we need him back. We are short of decent options on the left.
Dreams come true. Without that possibility, nature would not incite us to have them.

But he's been injured virtually all the time time he's been here. I don't recall him ever playing "excellent" for us since he signed.

I'd have Gonzo ahead of him every day of the week. Especially as he's improving and needs games now (but not in the CL). I'd let Kewell go just to get his £70K a week off the books and buy the likes of Alves and Ribery or Quaresma.

He's put in plenty MOM performances for us, I can't pin point exact matches cos we're going back last season and the one before, but he did very well in the closing stages of last season if you recall.

                  1) excellent I'd say there's plenty of time he's been excellent hence MOM
                  2) consistent Maybe not but his injuries have played a massive part in that
                  3) conistently MOM This is just points 1 and 2 rolled into one really, you can do better than that

He is our best Left sided player when fit, and we will be better of if he is fir and firing

                    Cmon Harry!!
agreed, if and when he is fully fit we have no one better on the LW.

Got to say this is good news for me. Harry Kewell is a quality player, and we will be a better squad by far with him avalaible. Heres hoping.

Don't care if he's fit or not for the rest of the season.

                        We don't need him.

He was deadly in his first season before he got injured. scored something like 11 goals before xmas. When he returned for a run of games last year he played with application and guts, he was often our most potent threat going forward.

Exactly, that's why we need him. I've already posted this on another thread, but the only real weakness Chelsea haveis at RB, so we need a top quality LW for that game. If he came back and had a decent game he could easily be the match winner for us. With no Essien and only Diarra or Ferreira at RB he could have a field day.

Kewell has been our best LW for ages, even when only 70% fit. If he has "Olympic" fitness levels and the ozzies have finally cured him, then all the doubters on here be prepared to shut the **** up. If he gets injured long term again then I will on this subject, but I have confidence in him.
                              Forwards.......

15 goals in 120 games (Offal site) says he's not done enough in a Red shirt as a LWer (I was amazed he'd played that many for us). He's 29 this year, supposedly at his peak. We'll see next season (if he's here) if he's ever going to do it for us. I hope he does, but I'll be amazed.
