There is probably a reason to why he didn't play against Wigan

No Mascherano means that we will need to play with two defensive midfielders. Why do that when we only need to play Mascherano as the holding midfielder?

I think that Mascherano will play because he is the better player and fits into Rafas system better than Sissoko.

Momo also did not play.

I realise that Macher is a better footballer then Momo. But Momos presence is IMO to important in a game that is going to be a brutal fight.

Finnan: Injured or being saved for Chelsea?

Finnan hasn't started or been on the bench since the Man City game on the 14th. Is he injured? Or is Rafa giving him a rest ahead of the CL final games?

Arbeloa has done very well IMO so we're ticking along. I'm just wondering if Finnan's OK.

Have a word mate, when he's on form he's a monster. And given the way Xabi and Mash played last night, this isn't the best time to be saying stuff like that either if you want to be able to back it up.

In terms of energy, running around, harrassing the opposition and breaking up play, Momo will always be better than those two. The only problem he has is his distribution and his positional discipline - which for some reason seem to have become a lot more noticeable and relevant since he came back from that injury
