Liverpool in hunt for Spanish wonder kid

    23rd April 2007

Liverpool and Manchester United are battling it out to sign Spanish wonder kid Juan Manuel Mata Garcia Mata according to reports over the weekend.

The Daily Star claims both clubs are interested in signing the 18 year striker who is considered to be one of the hottest young properties in Spanish football.

Mata was recently promoted to Real Madrid's first team squad but has become frustrated at the lack of first team opportunities causing speculation that he is set to move away from the Spanish giants this summer.

Any one know any thing about him?
On awaiting Everton's arrival for a derby game at Anfield, Bill Shankly gave a box of toilet rolls to the doorman and said: "Give them these when they arrive – they'll need them!"

You may have found the one source worse than Tribal Football.

I know he's got a very silly name.

I always get worried when a disgruntled player is described as 'one of the hottest young players' etc - smacks of agent speak for 'put the kid in the first team or I'll start touting him all over Europe'

Having said all that he might be the dogs gonads.
What have I learned, Mr Mackay? Three things. One - bide your time. Two - keep your nose clean. And three - don't let the *******s grind you down

                      .
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

Replace hottest young properties in Spanish football, with "hottest young properties in French football" and the feeling of deja vu is underwhelming at most!

Very few teenagers are making it at the very top sides these days, only the very best break through, he obviously isn't of that calibre yet, and would prob improve with a seasons long loan at a club not involved in Europe, in his own league or elsewhere.

As has been said, more likely agent speak, who isn't doing his client any favcurs actually.
