    Maybe...

Also, if Pennant is going to start, where will Stevie play ?

    Left ? Center ? Up front ?

        ---------Reina--------
        Finnan--Carra--Agger--Arbeloa
        Pennant--Gerrard--Alonso--Kewell/Riise (can't decide)
        ---------Kuyt--Crouch--------

If Agger was struggling by 50 mins I'd throw Sami on to shore the defence up. Arbeloa/Riise is a tricky one as Arbeloa had a stinker last nite, but has been excellent when he's played LB (Messi). We all know Riises deficiencies.

Kewell/Risse/Speedy is also a very tough decision????

That makes a lot of sense. I couldn't believe Zenden was chosen ahead of Pennant last night. Also, Bellamy should only be utilised as a late sub, IMO.

                Reina
                Finnan
                Carragher
                Agger
                Riise
                Pennant
                Sissoko
                Alonso
                Gonzalez
                Gerrard
                Crouch

Was thinking Kewell would be good, but realistically he wont be match fit. We missed Aurelio basly yesterday as Ferreira was their weak link and Zenden's distribution was very poor at times.

Jermaine, you know the song Billie Jean...is it about the tennis player??

Zenden's distribution was poor at ALL time. I cant remember a player having so much of the ball and doing so little with it.

Every year we seem to have a useless player and at the end of the season when he's gone we sigh and say "Thank god he's gone" - then we get another one!

I said before the game that Chelsea will use our weak midfield player and force us to give him a lot of the ball and act as our playmaker, this time Zenden but it would have been the same if we had played Momo.

There is no chance that Momo will play in the second leg because of the above reason.

You don't need to be a genius to understand that.

We need to score ONE goal so the most important thing is to be patient. We will get our chances.

You could also notice that we hadn't played any important game for a while and Chelsea had done that. We will be much better in the second leg at Anfield.
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

                          Sadly, that's very true.

Sissoko is more dynamic and will be more physical in the midfield, its a tough call, keeping the ball is important but neither Xabi or Mascherano did that yesterday. The Chelsea midfield didnt have to do much to keep them at bay.

a balanced game is needed and i think that is what we will get, not too high, not too deep, and try and keep compact when out of possession, we will no doubt use any width we can to stretch Chelsea, think we should also start with Crouch upfront.
Bill shankly to Tommy Smith after he'd turned up for training with a bandaged knee:
'Take that poof bandage off, and what do you mean YOUR knee, it's LIVERPOOL'S knee !'

"Sorry, boss, I should have kept my legs together," said Lawrence. "No, Tommy, your mother should have kept her legs together!," replied Shankly.

                              * After Tommy Lawrence had let in a fluke goal between his legs
