Drogba is an immense player. He has so much strength and his ability to hold the ball up is fantastic. Agger didn't play badly but I think he was isolated. The goal came from our left hand side and both Riise and Zenden had poor games ... That was our undoing.

I think thats exactly what he'll do.Originally posted by DJS View PostWe'll look to dictate the tempo, keep the ball, control the game and if a goal comes, great. If not, stay patient and it'll come.
That's how i think Rafa will approach it.
I would like to think he'll put Gerrard in the middle Pennant on the right, with Crouch up front, and get right down Chelsea's throats for the first 20 minutes. Start the game with a high tempo, tell Riise and Pennant to get to the byline and get some balls into the box at every opportunity. Get the early goal and if neccesary then settle back to keeping the ball etc and be patient for the winner.
Knowing Rafa, i expect it to be the exact same side as last night with Finnan back in if fit, and he'll have Pennant and Crouch to come on late on if we need a goal.If you've lost your faith in love and music the end won't be long

If Finnan is fit.
-----------------Reina
Finnan-----Carra-------Agger----Arbeloa
-----------------Mascherano
Gerrard----------Alonso----------Riise
----------------------Kuyt
-----------------Crouch
Rafa will never drop Kuyt in a big game like this.
We need Crouch more than Bellamy.
Pennant isn't good enough defending.
Arbeloa is our best left back.Just believe and you never know what will happen.
According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

The fear of conceding the away goal will ensure we dont 'go for the throat' on this one.Originally posted by Joe Le Toff View PostI think thats exactly what he'll do.

I think it's dangerous to think that way.Originally posted by kopash View PostCrucial we score early as that's what we've relied on so many times under Benitez in Europe in these 2 legged games. If we don't I fear the worst as we never seem able to open teams up comfortably.
For me Pennant has to play
Patience will be key. No panic, no kitchen sink. Just controlled tempo and aggression. Dictate the play. The goal will come.

I agree, with the 2 extra players we're bound to winOriginally posted by rushscored4 View PostI think our tactics should be to play 4-1-2-3-2, keep possession throughout the game, win all the 70:30 balls and score two goals more than them...
