    2nd Leg Strategy

I think Rafa will tell the players to get stuck into Chelsea from the off without over committing ourselves up the field. The crowd will play a huge part as before and we need to go for an early goal as Chelsea won't do much attacking early on.

Keeping it tight, not conceding is a priority though.

If we can go 1-0 up in 1st half, then that's great we don't need to step it up. lf we can get another in 2nd half then perfect, otherwise let's get them into extra time and then our superior fitness/freshness will take over.

I really think we can do this - get that solitary goal, go 1-0 up and keep them out for 90 minutes. Then win it 2-0 in extra time or even on pens if we have to.

It's important that we don't blow the tie in the first half by going too gung-ho

We need to score early - very early.

*But a 94th minute 1-0 winner will do for me too.

I think we will keep it tight from the beginning. Rafa is too cautious.
We might score in the first half, but if not, Chavs will counter and score about 70th 75th minute...and we are out.

We need to give it a proper go, but as you say, the balance between pushing them back and protecting their counterattacking style is hard.
We did it last time at home, more of that please.

Yeah, injury-time winner would be a dream.

Attack, attack, attack. Just like we did against Juve , Leverkuesen, chavs, Barca etc.. in the last couple of seasons.

I think our tactics should be to play 4-1-2-3-2, keep possession throughout the game, win all the 70:30 balls and score two goals more than them...

Stevie has to play in the middle, for a start. And Crouch has to be upfront...dare I say we should go 3-5-2 and use Sami at the back to nullify Dogbreath in the air?!
"the correct decision would have been a penalty for us a red card for Gattuso and a yellow for Stevie"

We'll look to dictate the tempo, keep the ball, control the game and if a goal comes, great. If not, stay patient and it'll come.

That's how i think Rafa will approach it.

3-5-2 might be a bit of a risk.4-5-1 / 4-3-3 on the other hand might not be.

I thin' that our idea will be to be compact, control the game, counter-attack and try to win.

Of course. That's why i dont think we'll go gung ho and look for that high tempo stuff.

If we're dictating the tempo and keeping the ball, they shouldnt get chances to score.
