I actually agree. Gerrard took away all balance and width with his headless chicken run all over the pitch. He is a disaster at RM. Especially against strong opposition.
We were somewhere around Barstow on the edge of the desert when the drugs began to take hold.
Sometimes it makes me wonder if he's just getting a bit big for his boots - does Rafa say "Okay Stevie, do whatcha like" or does he just think "I don't wanna play on the right so I'm gonna drift inside"

Either way it's ****ing annoying
It is.
Infuriating.

I can't believe there are people asking folk to "lay off Zenden". He tries hard? So ****ing what? That is an absolute minimum requirement and "trying hard" doesn't excuse another completely **** performance.
He had the run of their right-side all night and didn't produce one single piece of quality. Not one. It's just not good enough.
In tandem with the cumbersome and agricultural Riise, our left side was a ****ing black hole.
Shaggy, the point is, which I think is being missed by most, is that he didn't pick himself, he was without doubt the least gifted player we had on the pitch and probably the oldest and yet our "better" players saw their own arses yesterday.
Alonso gave the ball away and didn't control the game
Mascherano was pretty anonymous
Gerrard was his usual right side sulky self
Riise was ineffective, not committed in the tackle and slower than an oil tanker
Bellamy trotted around like it was training exercise
Kuyt's first touch was brutal etc etc
Get the picture? So why are singling out Bolo who's touch was good, he made space, his crossing was poor but lets face it no one was in the box to get on the end of it.
People get knocked for knocking the usual suspects at times, and for me, this is the case.
I would pick Gonzales over Zenden as well, but if we had a better option than Gonzo then I'd pick him as well as he's done nothing of any real note this year - oh scored the winner against Haifa...
The team was poor, the tactics were poor, the selection was poor and the commitment was non-existent. That said, can we really get it that wrong, that badly, next Tuesday. I don't think so.
I thought he did ok last night, certainly no worse than some of our other players. He offered himself on the LW and did try to get something going down the line, as oppossed to Stevie who just abandoned the RW.
The performance wasnt enough to save his LFC career and the sooner he goes the better.

Bolo is getting singled out because they left so much space for him to operate in, he saw tons of the ball, but he didn't create any decent chances for us.

And yet had the best chance to draw level in the match.
The only world class player we have unfortunately.

Don't take life too seriously or you'll never get out alive.
I can't agree with anyone who thought he was one of better players... does this equate to posession?
His final ball was rubbish. Ferreria had him in his pocket all game and he isn't even that good.
Gonzo will play in the reverse tie.
Bob, its not so much us saying he was one of the better players, its about the so-called gifted players playing nowhere near their ability. With Zenden we know what we are likely to get and we got that - but he was closer to the top of his game than others. Obviously top of his game is worse than most!
The point I'm making is, there were worse players on Wednesday, and they are not being singled out anywhere near as much as Zenden.
