If you take out Speedy as he was actually bought ages ago we have spent about £17mil net this window. To spend much more without big sales would be a surprise, and yet we could conceivably still get rid of ALT, Pongolle, Diao, and JK. That could bring is say £5-6million.

Tell me about it. I've just come to terms with signing Bellamy, but I despise Neill more than I ever did Bellamy.

I wasn't too bothered about Bellamy, I know he's a bit of a cock and he has a dubious past but it's in the past and it didn't involve LFC. Lucas Neill is a poor footballer and a dirty player. Nothing annoys me more in football, players like Vinne Jones and Robbie Savage are prime examples. Keane was a dirty player but he was a good footballer.
Thankfully if we did sign him, he'd be purely back up for Finnan so I won't have to put up with him too much.
