Agreed, I just think it was blown way out of proportion because of Bellamys reputation. I think it will be a shame when he goes, he has more to his game than he has been allowed to show this season, and he has genuine passion for the club, but we arent gonna win the league with our current strikers so so be it.

Or Bellamy knows he's out and is making sure other clubs are also aware of it. People in the game will know what this Allen guy is like and if he's a bull****ter or not. If he's not, they know it's a Bellamy come and get me plea.

We'll sell for 8 at least.
The 6 mill wouldn't have bought Alves btw and we still needed another striker.
It was a clever bit of business at the time.
6m plus the 7m for Pennant would have bought Alves.

We could have kept Pongolle at the club as well, he would have easily matched Bellamy's 9 goals this season.

Pure speculation, you don't know that would have been enough.
Pongolle has never shown anything to show he'd score consistantly with us.

So the same as Bellamy then ?

            Except for six million less.

Rafa ****ed up last summer, the sooner the RCDNW brigade deal with that fact the better.

Well Bellamy scored 13 goals last season in 27 games.

I do agree with your sentiments BUT FFS...

how many ****ing times do you have to be told- we only paid £3.5m up front for Pennant, Sevilla wanted the whole lot up front for Alves.

I wouldn't say he ****ed up mate, he was trying to get 2 players for positions he felt needed filling, so he took a gamble. It's easy to say with hindsight that certain players aren't good enough. But with out some of Bellamys goals or pennants assists maybe we'd be sitting 5th now? Maybe Alves wouldn't have cut it either

Pedersen is better than what we have....alot better.

he would create alot of chances for us purely from his crossing ability. We dont have anything near his quality in this regard. He is also quite skillful on the ball.

just because he isnt at a big club, and doesnt have a fancy sounding name, doesnt mean he isn't good...he is, and he would be an improvement.

If we could get him for Bellers we shuld jump at it.

To be honest most people accept that last summers signings haven't been as succesful as we would have liked. However they tend to think that either way it would have been a gamble and that they are not privy to the financial details of the deals or prospective deals.

You seem to think that merely by name calling you can disguise the fact that your argument is based on wild speculation. How do you know how much Alves would have cost? Or that he would have adapted to the PL and thus been better for the team than Pennant & Bellamy.

Looking at their historys suggests that Bellamy was a much better bet to get 15-20 goals in a season than Pongolle. Added to the fact that for his long term development FSP probably needs to play ever match means that that argument is far from as one sided as you portray.

Craig Bellamy is not a significant improvement on anything we had before he came, he's no where near good enough to play for the club and quite frankly it was a mistake for Rafa to buy him in the first place. A waste of time and money.

If we want to win the title, we need better. Much better.

Patience and sentimentality has cost this club dear for nearly two decades now.

Hopefully Zenden, Dudek, Fowler, Gonzalez, Paletta are co are treated equally as ruthlessly by Rafa.

                                Bye Craig.

                                Onwards and upwards.
We'll make a healthy profit on him so dont see how he could be a waste of money
