Yes he will. I WAS WRONG. I said his inclusion would cost us and he didn't. Well done lad. Esp the pen.

Not talking about his time here in general, I'm talking about tonight.

Before the game just about everyone was saying "oh no Zenden's bloody starting" or "FFS sake why is he playing?"

People were saying the same things about Igor and Jimmy in the 2005 run. Just saying.

      Bolo played his part tonight.

Just wish people would support the players instead of continuously slagging them off.

Allow me to resubmit my previous effort, in the vain hope that it rings out loud and shrill in the Athens night:

To the tune of ‘Yellow’ by Coldplay:

Look at his face, an enigmatic scar,
          Hair cut by Beardsley’s ma,
          And he’s called Masher.

At Upton Park, his progress was abated,
          Transfer unnecessarily complicated,
          And he’s called Masher.

But now – he’s learning to speak Scouse,
          He’ll buy – a Birkdale Georgian house,
Sold us his soul like some wild Pampas Faust lad
          - I hear he’s not too bad.
          Screaming from beneath the waves...

Kuyt - I'm not his biggest fan but he never stopped running tonight, awesome stuff.

Agger had a great game, kept Drogba quiet tonight.

Mascherano, probably MOTM, with Pennant not far behind.

From West Ham reserves to a CL Final within 4 months, I wonder how Tevez feels right now!

Anyone bother to ask Masher if he made the right decision or not??

With all the thread heeping praise for players.....

....i cant believe none for Carra!!

This guy is what sums up to be a Liverpool player. The guy is just immense a modern day Liverpool legend that gives his all every match.

He's schooled in the Liverpool History and if your a new player and dont know what Liverpool is about you soon find out when your on the pitch with him. I can ALWAYS hear him shouting on tv at the matches excellent leader even though he doesnt have the arm band. What an impoved player since Rafa has come to the club. Like a brick wall in that defence.

Carra was in bits like he was in the final in 2005, but no way could you have got him off that pitch. He gives everything and deserves every sucess he gets.

When you feel like you're done, you are not alone........

                  Zenden

After the previous game I had wriiten a thread asking about Zenden - and I was right to.

To be fair to the lad, I wanted to say that his performance tonight (as was every one of them) was fantastic. No - he didnt set the world on fire but I would never expect him to. He was solid, is obviously very fit as he worked until the end and rarely made any mistakes and he made a very positive contribution all round. I remember seeing him all over the ****ing place - so much so that I kept asking if we'd switched Zenden to CM or RM as he was everywhere! Credit to the lad - great ****ing game

Then he goes and scores our first pen. I was ****ting my pants at the time and to be honest there was an audible pause from the good crowd in the pub I was at but its like the momentum was all in our favor then. If Zenden puts it away, look at the supporting cast!

Off the point but then God comes on and I went nuts. I had visions of him scoring the winning pen to put us in Athens but HE DIDNT EVEN HAVE TO - WE WERE THAT GOOD

On another side note, I found out today that some of the fam I still have back in blighty have gotten me a ticket for the final game of the season. Im headed over there from yankeeland and now I get to be a part of cheering the lads on in their last home game before the big one...

                  time for another Stella...

                  I love this team

                    Mascherano....again

Our summer signing may not have been as good as we had hoped for, but boy oh boy, at least one of our winter signings has been nothing short of sensational.

Mascherano was again immense and he has settled into our team so well.

It's amazing that just a few months ago at WH he was down in the dumps and hating life in the UK, now he is a different player. One wanders why west ham never played him properly?

                    Well done lad....

from relegation to CL final in 5 months... I think Masher would take that

Well done Javier! You truly showed your class today
Glad too he didn't get a second yellow to keep him out of the final

Living legend. He doesn't require praise now, he's above such mortal things.

Love how he always looks knackered!

Superb game last night. Hit the bar, robbed of a goal - never stopped running and kept his head for the pens. Well dne lad. What a first season for you.

Needs to score more - I wish he had the strength and directness of Drogba
