Just saw that and the foul on Ronaldo. I would like to see those who do this kind of thing get like a 9 month ban.

I don´t think it is right to punish the club, but the player should really be made to pay.

I agree I think that players that do things like that should be heavily fined with the money beeig handed out to the lower legue teams for youth development.

You have to be kidding. I've only seen the Michael Ball foul and clearly it was wrong and he should be punished but did you notice he did no long-term damage to Ronaldo?

Violent conduct - 3 or 4 games would be enough. Anything more would be a ludicrous overreaction.
            .
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

              i missed this, what happened?
Bill shankly to Tommy Smith after he'd turned up for training with a bandaged knee:
'Take that poof bandage off, and what do you mean YOUR knee, it's LIVERPOOL'S knee !'

"Sorry, boss, I should have kept my legs together," said Lawrence. "No, Tommy, your mother should have kept her legs together!," replied Shankly.

              * After Tommy Lawrence had let in a fluke goal between his legs

I am totally serous. He was not to thank for the fact that Ronaldo was not injured. This is not football, this is violence. And should be treated as such.

Of course and we agree he should be punished. However, how much harm he intended and how much he actually caused are both relevant.

                  Nine months?

                    IMHO only one is relevant.

What would you have done for the Ben Thatcher assault on Mendes? Given him 10 years? Cut off one of his limbs?

Despite being a blue****e, Ball should be given a medal for doing that ponce.

Agreed he's a ponce , but come on; he should be hung out to dry for that kind of behaviour, as should brown or anyone who is violent on the pitch in that way.

Look I agree, they are both ****houses. But Ball done a scum player, this doesn't count, it should be allowed even.

And lets be honest, the way Ronaldo behaves he's had it coming to him.
