Radio city are saying 4000 tickets with 7 or more so 13000 for the ballot.
Will it be done on an opt in basis?
ie will people that don't want to go be offered a ticket because they have been pulled out of a hat?
DYA RECKON
or will they just throw in everyone who is eligible wether they want to go or not?

In an ideal world we'd have been allocated more tickets for Athens and we spent all day with UEFA on Friday asking the question. There is a suggestion that Milan will be returning some of their tickets and so we asked whether we could have them, but the answer was a clear no. Those tickets will go back into the big pot.
The other thing we told UEFA was that we know there will be more than 17,000 of our fans inside the stadium that night. There's no doubt about that. So we asked if we could have more tickets and then at least we could control the process and the sale of those tickets. Again, sadly, the answer was no and I don't think they will be changing their position.
It's very disappointing from our point of view and I know there are lots of frustrated fans out there. The biggest problem though is just that we don't have enough tickets. It's as simple as that.
UEFA sticking the Milan returns into the pot!!
What feckin pot is that like!!
GEORGE!! TOM!! PLEASE!!
Charter those planes and get the fans to ATHENS with some tickets.
Let the fans free!!!!

I'M SPARTACUS!!

The prices aren't that much higher though - I paid £469 to get to Istanbul and I've booked with Flight Options for £499 this time around.Originally posted by Red_Al_77 View PostI think there will be less Liverpool fans travelling purely because the prices seem much higher this time for travel.
IMO there will be a big turnout as usual [around 40,000 again]. When I booked this morning I asked if they had been busy - the bloke told me that they had 20 planes flying on day trips out of Liverpool and he expected them ALL to be sold by Tuesday. Last time we waited until the equivalent of next Saturday before booking and there was no problem at all - this time it'll all be sold out!'Of course I didn't take my wife to see Rochdale as an anniversary present.
It was her birthday.
Would I have got married during the football season ?
Anyway, it was Rochdale reserves.'

I think what people are forgetting is that many season ticket holders like myself went on the automatic ticket scheme this season for all the cups. This was the first season it was introduced and it's been great for me because the tickets just arrive through the post without having to 'phone up or try endlessly to log in to the website. If you didn't want a ticket you could call to say so but only an idiot would have done that!
I'm sure thousands of season ticket holders will have done the same and received tickets even when they've not used them personally. As most of you know I didn't 'go' to the Chav$ki match but I still received the ticket and credit so I'll be one of the many thousands in the ballot. If I get one then great, I'll go to Athens but if I don't I won't go. I'd rather watch it with Kaip, Rhodders, Jay, Toni and the boys in Liverpool than spend the best part of a grand travelling to Greece and stand with a load of strangers like I did in Istanbul.
There is a light that never goes out. RIP Alan "Mally" Johnston and the 96. YNWA.

A lot of fans will think "Well I went to Istanbul so I ain't gonna bankrupt myself this time". The fact that Chelsea and Manure stayed in to the end has badly affected prices. Greeks are fanatical about football so they won't give up their tickets without wanting top dollar.
Don't forget the Greeks love their footie. I reckon a fair few won't be selling their tickets on.
