I think he must be injured long term as I dont think he's played for Athletico Madrid this season - shame really as he averages a goal every 3.5 games - not bad at all for a player in his position.Originally posted by PC Plod View PostThat is a lot of reinforcing the defence.
How's Maxi Rodriguez playing at the mo? I'd forgotten about him. Weren't we linked wth him before?

Midfielders Maxi Rodríguez and Martin Petrov have returned to training at Club Atlético de Madrid six months after both sustained serious knee injuries. The 26-year-old Rodríguez tore ligaments in his left knee during Argentina's friendly against Spain in Murcia on 11 OctoberIt's my job to handle life and death situations on a daily basis. It's what I do, and I'm very good at it.

Michael Owen should be playing on our right before he left
Bill shankly to Tommy Smith after he'd turned up for training with a bandaged knee:
'Take that poof bandage off, and what do you mean YOUR knee, it's LIVERPOOL'S knee !'
"Sorry, boss, I should have kept my legs together," said Lawrence. "No, Tommy, your mother should have kept her legs together!," replied Shankly.

You might be right to be fair- just was assuming the minimalism would have made sense in the context of the previous posts on the subject of right & left wingers.3rd place. Worst champions ever.

I don't think we'll buy as many players as some people might think.
I new striker - definitely. We have got Veronin, and I would expect one of Eto'o or Villa and possibly a lesser name.
As for two wide men...don't think so. I think we'll get someone for the right, and I honestly believe that Rafa will keep and use Kewell big time next season.
We already have a solid foundation, and I think Rafa would like to try play JM, SG and XA as much as possible in the same team next season, with Momo playing occasionally.
For me there will only be 2 really big names, and two or three lesser names.....

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.
