Robbie is one my favourite players of all time, it was a real pleasure to watch him when he first broke into the team. An amazing talent, just made scoring such a easy thing. I only wish we could build a timemachine and nab a 21 yr old Robbie and stick him in our team now. He would fit in perfectly with us.
If it is his final Anfield apperance then it will be a sad day, but at least we'll all be able to say goodbye.

people always say that for players with such an innate, natural talent its hard for them to teach, as its so instinctive. Dunno how true that is. Robbie was magically gifted. God imagine if we had him at his peak now. There is no doubt we'd be winning back to back leaguesLFC - the footballing Phoenix. Watch us rise.

It's a final 18, so maybe there's more of a chance than you think. Rafa has always said that Robbie is the best PK taker in the team, so there isa good chance he'll be on the bench, just in case (we won't need PKs though)Originally posted by Zambian_Red View PostI really hope fowler is in the final 16 for CL, even if it means sitting on the bench and coming on for the final 5/10 minutes.

I think Fowler will battle to coach players. Just like Souness he will find it frustrating that others cant do what comes easy to himOriginally posted by redpablo View Postpeople always say that for players with such an innate, natural talent its hard for them to teach, as its so instinctive. The fact that he would have waltzed into Sven's first XI for the World Cup makes it all the more bizarre that he ended up at Newcastle.Originally posted by Zambian_Red View PostYeah agree with you on this he will be 28 this year and at the top level he has about three years to earn himself trophies. Yes he could have played hard ball with madrid and opted to come back at Anfield. Sowhat if he had rotted on the madrid bench or the reserves because he was always going to be the number one pick on sven's first eleven.
I honestly believe that Owen wants to break the all time england record for most goals as he isnt that far away.
I'm sure he does want to break Bobby Charlton's record, it will make him an England legend, but surely club trophies are more important?
Simple fact is there is no way he should have ended up at Newcastle. I resented the runt for bull****ting us about signing a new deal while negotiating with Madrid, and jumping ship as soon as Rafa came in. But the fans chanted his name at the SUper Cup game v CSKA Moscow, Rafa wanted him back, so how the **** did he end up there?

No he couldn't. The fact is we didn't bid £17m and Newcastle did. Madrid didn't need to sell. He was 1 year into a 4 year deal, compared to 1 year left when he left LFC, and 2nd top scorer in La Liga, so he was never going to be sold for the money we got for him. Even if he had waited till January we would still have had to pay a significant sum for him, as Madrid didn't need to sell - money we either didn't have or weren't prepared to pay.Originally posted by Zambian_Red View PostYes he could have played hard ball with madrid and opted to come back at Anfield.

The only reason i can find that he ended up at Barcodes is high wages(104,000 pounds a week), no rotationOriginally posted by Dhavlos View PostThe fact that he would have waltzed into Sven's first XI for the World Cup makes it all the more bizarre that he ended up at Newcastle.
