Amauri, yes, we are linked with yet another striker

Agent reveals Liverpool move for Palermo's Amauri
    tribalfooball.com - May 08, 2007

Liverpool are eyeing Palermo striker Amauri.

Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez was alerted to Amauri, 26, after he joined the Sicilian club from Chievo for £5.5million last summer.

Amauri's agent Mariano Grimaldi said: "Benitez is an admirer and considers him to be the best striker in Europe along with Didier Drogba.

"However, Liverpool are not the only ones after Amauri. There are offers coming from several clubs.

"But Liverpool have kept an eye on him for quite a while now."
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

He has been out a long time with a knee injury.

wikipedia says he has scored 8 in 18 this season.
Whilke at chievo he scored 17 in 90 games in a three season spell
not very prolific, although sounds like not a bad return this season.
Bill shankly to Tommy Smith after he'd turned up for training with a bandaged knee:
'Take that poof bandage off, and what do you mean YOUR knee, it's LIVERPOOL'S knee !'

"Sorry, boss, I should have kept my legs together," said Lawrence. "No, Tommy, your mother should have kept her legs together!," replied Shankly.

Was thinking the same…we could re-jig the Fowler song:

When the ball hits the net
                            It's a fairly safe bet
                            it's Amauri...

He is one of the three Italian based players that Rafa talked about three or four months ago. Trezeguet and Bojinov are the other two.
