    Could very well be.

I think the big question for me then is whether our midfiled quartet of Gerrard, Alonso, Mascherano, Sissoko is good enough? Yes they are the best defensive midfield unit in the world as far as I am concerned...but...can we afford to sacrifice so many goals from our center mids compared to our competitors?

I think if we continue with those 4 we need to over compensate in other areas of the team in terms of regular goal scorers, particularly the wingers and attacking full backs. Otherwise perhaps doing the unthinkable and selling Alonso to get Eto'o in (if thats even a possibility) might be an option Rafa is willing to consider in order to get more goals into the side and replace him with a goal scoring center mid.

If you compare that to Man Ure and Chel$ki they unfortunately hammer us in that department.
I disagree about the midfield comparisons - apart from Lampard, who do Chelsea have as a regular goalscorer? And ManUre; Scholes might get a few, as will Carrick and Giggs but not loads...

Joe Cole seems to score fairly regularly for Chelsea, although not this season due to injury, plus they have Ballack and Essien who can both contribute.

At least Cisse is doing us some good then.
